as far as I'm concerned if it is rap,
it's not listenable.
and I really can't recall ever hearing anything by this guy.
but i might have,
and just not known that it was him.

In any case, I'm sure that the girls he was lately sleeping with, are pretty broke up about it, and to a degree they have my sympathy

I felt the same way until we did a show with a group that did some "gospel rap" a few years ago. They were pretty darn good, their message was positive and a I caught myself tapping my foot.

Likewise, I'm sure any rap musician would say your "music" is not listenable. In fact I would say any musician would find the same.

Was that supposed to be funny, or witty somehow? Because Adam was a good husband and father, so I expect a retraction.

How do you know this, Jimmy?

Follow this out guys. Let's just say you love Led Zeppelin. Let's say they put out a rap song. Would that mean you automatically dislike them? Their whole body of work? That's the situation with the beastie boys. They have done lots of rap. They have done lots of punk. They have done lots of rock. They play their own instruments. They write their own songs. There is melody in their rap. They truly broke ground. Not being a one trick pony, and playing their own instruments give them all the credibility in the world. I mean the dude in question plays the upright bass in concert. Dude! That says it all!

Paul, I would still love the Zep and I would even applaud them for venturing into something out side of their normal tier.

I personally never paid that much attention to the Beastie Boys, but i didn't hold any contempt either... From my perspective, any opinion that I have about any musician who has made WW acclaim, ..well lets just say my opinion here... is rather moot anyhow. LOL!

Yes ... talented musician, sure. Does that change my opinion of The Beastie Boys

no it was supposed to be a comment about people who die who I never met,
and that their dieing does not make me solemn.

Thank You

The first time I heard "Paul's Boutique", it not only fed my lust for the groove, it sent my bass playing right over the edge, into the realm of tastyness. It was like hearing the bassline in Lemon Song.

AAMOF, the live jam on upright that Neandrapaul posted was actually from the Paul's Boutique ep. (49:00)

I can remember playing that cd on my boat when there were hot females aboard and before long, the whole cockpit looked like the movie set of Caligula.

Adam will be missed.
