I just noticed this is the Bandmix guitarist forum. Where are all the drummers, bassists, keyboardists, vocalists etc?

I would be really interested to hear what you guys have to say.

Oh, we're out here brother, we just can't get a word in edgewise for all the guitarists griping that they can't ever find dedicated and dependable drummers and/or bassists and/or singers! ;)

LOL, go figure....... ;)

Good to hear you guys are lerking at least. LOL.

I think all you guys are spoken for since there are 50 guitarists to one of anyone else.

Take care man and thanks for representing. 8)

If I have to repeat this - I am a celtic harper and keyboardist. And the guy's right, it's a difficult forum to talk about much but guitars.

I know that Irminsul and I was specifically going to mention you as being probably the only harpist but I never know how your going to take something so I refrained.

I know it's difficult because it does seem like a guitarist dominated forum and I would very much like to talk to non guitarists and hear what they have to say.

That is a beautiful piece.

I love music like that.

Are you doing the strings on the keyboard or is that a real violin? The violin sounds like the real deal as does the rest of the instruments so I will make the assumption they are all real.

Wish I had access to people like that.

Thanks for posting that I enjoyed it.

Thanks. Yes all those instruments were the real acoustic ones - that was Krista Baker on violin, from the band I was in at the time called "Stonecircle". Nina Cooley did the Irish whistle on it.

Very cool.

Do they sit in when you need help or do you guys work together on a regular basis?

Well at the time we were gigging quite regularly, so it was easy to recruit them for whatever I was doing. But I resigned from them back in 2005, and I'm working with some new folks now. One violinist who is quite good, but no flute/whistle player yet. My music has also changed a bit from that time, so it's all ok.

I can understand that. Sometimes you just need to work with other people to get a fresh perspective.

I would like to hear what something from the new deal sounds like when you have it. I very much enjoyed the piece you posted.

What do you think of Celtic Woman? I think they are great and Mariead Nesbitt is phenominal.

As you are most likely aware I am not a Celtic music aficionado.

Thanks Weg. As for Celtic Woman, I've heard them and think they have a real nice, competent sound, but it's a little too polished for my tastes. I like my Celtic music with a bit more...uhm...earth to it? I love bands like Capercaille, Silly Wizard, Men of Worth, even some of Seanaid O'Conor's work although she isn't strictly Celtic.

It was easy to leave that band, my friend. We were starting to gain alot of traction in the festival circuit when the band's leader mysteriously gave up the ghost, stopped writing and pushing our original sound, stopped pursuing the bettering of the band's career. Basically, it stagnated and that was an awfull thing to witness from such a talented bunch as these folks.

I didn't regret my move. It really opened up a lot of "plugged portals" at the time.
