Took a while to get this video done - 16 minutes is the longest 'single' tune I've ever recorded. Compiled videos from this year's Rolex 24 at Daytona weekend.

I love fast cars, good ol R&R and when you combine the two together in a video I'll watch it. Years ago when I was doing this sort of thing I would always try to syncapate the video cuts to the beat of the music. I feel you should try it on this video. Good job.

Thanks, RG - way too much work to try to synch every cut - I quickly found out that with my old computer I can't view an HD video AND run my DAW at the same time!

I can see a lot of work and sweat put into this video production. The music appears to thematically support the visual experience and is not necessarily the "feature" per se. So, I'm guessing if anybody was looking for a standard song, I'm guessing that was not your intention in this video?

In the Video, I would have liked to have seen some tags, labels, etc where appropriate...For example you showed a band playing... Who were they? What were they singing? Inquiring minds want to know? ...

Maybe sprinkle some narrative as well... maybe about the actual racers... and progress of the run, etc.

Thanks for the ideas, Paperdog. Yes, music was the 'background', not featured songs for this video. This was the first time I ever did this type of 'soundtrack'.
I have no idea who the two bands were in the video - bands that were playing the hospitality area in the infield, that's all I know! I kind of felt sorry for them - even with massive sound systems (with way too much sub) they were competing head-to-head with the sound of the cars.

That was fun! I am a huge fan of Grand Am racing and appreciate the effort to put it to music. I agree with many of the comments so far.

Bruce Brown probably set the bar for putting music to an action documentary: "Endless Sumer" "On Any Sunday". Two of my favorite films.

Thanks for watching/comments (everyone). It was a learning experience for me (as recording usually is). The hardest part was that I had to just write down the times of various changes in the video, then when recording try to write/play to those changes. Would have been easier if I could run the video at the same time/same software as the audio recording. I understand Reaper can be used for video, but have not tried it yet.
