I've got a somewhat offbeat tune called, "I see my death in your faces." I wrote it from the perspective of a guy in a Agatha Christie novel, old rich dude has gathered his greedy relatives around his death bed. etc

There is also "Death Committee," based on Logan's Run and years later, current events.

Sounds likea good one Mike Talbot,
good to hear from you, how's the
music going?

I finished writing Death, I'm ready to
move on to another song today.
I wonder what song they'll send me?

A general question for everyone here: when you record do you keep on working on just 1 tune until you've got all the tracks done, or do you work on multiple songs at a time?
For me it's 1 at a time, although I might go back and record an additional track to something I recorded before if I find I need to during mixing.

Last night I recorded 2 organ tracks (rhythm and lead) for the video soundtrack I'm working on. As I use a Casio Workstation for keys, I pick one of the built-in organ tones, then run it through PodFarm, using the Fender Rock Classic head (kind of a Bassman) with the drive up for some distortion, then into a Leslie speaker sim (low speed for the rhythm part, high speed for the lead).

Thus far, for me... I've got about 4 songs in the hopper at any given time right now.. I didn't plan it that way... If you are a one man show or its just you and a partner, each song takes a while (If you care to be meticulous) , cause you find that you get stuck on something or another...so, to break the tension and keep things fresh, its a good idea to jump onto another tune.

I only work on recording one song, but I
might be writing another one and humming
another still yet. While I'm recording a song
I'll listen to it over and over to try to pick
the licks out that work the best.

I try to grind out 2 at a time.

That way if you go cold on one, you can always futz with the other.

More than 2 is a snowstorm to me; whiteout conditions, zero visibility and freezing temperatures. Too many variables make for a confusing pie that tastes like all pies at once.

(mincemeat sucks)
