Mr Lance, the serious folk wont mind paying for an account. They most likely view it as ...For the mere fee its an awsome investment, in the future of their musical career. The not-so-serious folk, obviously aren't willing to do what it takes to move ahead. If you don't have any luck here, its not a reflection of you , per se.... Its just what it is..

The lack of a PM feature ( understandable- considering the nature of this beast ) is a real road block in that there is no communication with other members other than by making a post.
It would be nice to be able to chat Pm style about stuff like guitars and websites and music without resorting to a making a public post ...

This is an interesting topic, and I like seeing/hearing people's thoughts on this issue, because not everybody is a working musician, and wants to spend money just to contact someone. Take me for instance. I do play music and I am looking for good quality players, but at the same time, I'm trying to reach those who are currently playing for enjoyment and are not currently interested in making a career out of playing music.


I've tried this site several other times in the past, and I only reached one dude. Of course, he had a free account as well, because he contacted me over the phone and stated he was having trouble contacting me. He turned out to not have enough passion and knowledge for the songs and artists I am working on, even though he did come off as a more experienced musician. I tried to see if I could network with him in person or on Facebook, but he ended outright saying "I have plenty of friends, and I don't need anymore".

Aside from that one contact, the rest were spam e-mails (mostly from a place called Taylor Robinson's Music) and a few working musicians who already have a full band together asking me if I wanted to be a part of thet group. I politely turn that person down, and if possible, see if that person knows someone around my age who fits more in line with my current music goals.

The musician section of Craigslist is quite similar as well, at least in Baton Rouge. Everybody who posts there is also looking for work as a musician, and the few responses I got were still not satisfactory.

I found My entire band Here on bandmix Now I no longer need the premier account got a really good sound not enough recording gear yet but we are working on it very nicely and I never posted any Music only what I wanted to play and My experience

This is quite an interesting subject. As a member here I fully support having to pay for most of the PM advantages yet I have always been to broke to do so (I did it for a year but stopped) And not being able to contact others is a nasty little thorn but I understand. There are several musicians of late that I've wanted to contact and I always hope that when they see that I've viewed them they contact me. And if they look hard enough at my profile they will figure out how to contact me.
