To all on the Bandmix forum, there are truly some great

players(mixed in with the not so great on this forum), and

I have learned much. I'm going to try to keep my remarks

limited to musical subjects, cause this is what I know. I didn't

mean to hurt or offend anyone (well maybe one) on this forum,

I'm new at internet relationships and perhaps to crass and literal.

I really appreciate all the free advice I've gotten from you guys

off of this forum, and I think I'll need it in the future as I drag my

music on forward.

I feel I owe a special apology to Mr Sanshouheil and Mr Yod, I

judged you thru the blinders of my own phukked up Christian

philosophy. I worked the church (for no pay) 7 shows on Saturday

nights and Sunday mornings, (if you ain't play Sunday mornings

you ain't playing to the big and moneyed crowd) here's some

observations...... The doors are locked, so no one can get in

without securities knowledge, you can get out, cause once we have

you in we fleece your pockets and need you out the door so we

can run the next crowd thru. The doors have to be locked so no one

is able to come in and take the money (this is worried about). I'd sit

on the stage (playing a Taylor 814ce and when they'd let me a Steinway

grand piano) and watch, the guys who c ollected the money never

had to sit thru the service they sat in the back offices eating donuts

and drinking coffee and guarding the money(they looked like the

happiest guys at church). While the praise team (church band), had set

times to be onstage and a look and sound that the church wanted

projected. All sound and video was controlled by the church

soundman(you don't use you pa at these big churches you plug right

into the floor all sound was snaked back to the soundman in the

balcony, also your video monitor(A 7 foot one) was also back there

so you could observe yourself,(we must show more enthuasim during

our performance). I could go on and on but I respect both of you guys

and my comments towards you were uncalled for, I'm jaded.

Just because my religous beliefs are jaded and fading is no excuse for

calling you names, I'm sorry. I realize now that maybe I just hate the

way todays church has become, not all the good people that are

involved in the church. I'm just a man who's not afraid to make a stand

but sometimes I'm wrong.

Peace

No worries Lynard. We all say things we regret at some point or another. I have been known to say STUPID things. If I said anything that offended you I apologize! It is great to see you are man enough to admit your mistakes. I am new to this computer thing myself (started in 2006) thats when I actually learned how to turn one on LOL. One thing about this site there are some damn GOOD folks that come here and there are some that are a little too passionate in their beliefs but thats subjective! Good to see you came back because you have a lot to offer some of us nitwits!

Lynard, it "usually" takes a lot more than that to offend me, bro. I totally hate religion so I'd probably be the last person who would defend what goes on in "church" today.

If it will increase my standing with you guys, I've had an album that was banned in several countries by the christian distributors. I'm definitely not accepted in most churches and wouldn't want to be. On many occasions have rebuked specific churches from their own stage.

I don't think the church can be reformed. The whole mess has to be blown up and built from scratch again since it was defiled in the early centuries. The problem began when it moved out of people's houses and into cathedrals. That's a boring subject for most people here so I'll stop except to say that I'm in agreement with most of what you would say about the church. Faith, however, is a different thing and it's a shame that the "church" has obscured that and manipulated people for millennia.

That's why I prefer talking to musicians and this is the only discussion group I visit anymore. Give me the arrogant, the alchoholics, the satanists, the pagans, the atheists, the partiers, the stoners, and the hedonists anyday. At least they are honest about where they stand and why. Anyone who can stand in faith here is truly faithful.

YOD, I know its cliche' but there is an old saying about church "christians aren't perfect just forgiven" No human being is perfect! That is something I struggle with EVERYDAY! We expect folks to be perfect when we aren't. Thats hypocritical to me. I am one of the worst but working on it

No reason to apologize, Lynard.

Everyone makes mistakes..

Good on you Lynard. We all screw up and stick our boots in our mouths once in a while. To stand up and own that takes courage.

A wise man once said: "God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy." People run churches and screwed up churches run by flawed people just confirms my faith rather than condemns it. I sort of expect people to make a mess of it. That is what we do. Some are much better than others though and a church that really serves the poor and disenfranchised rather than the wealthy and privileged still has value to me. Just some food for thought... I'm not gonna preach at ya.

Amen! I don't expect people to be perfect, and I don't expect churches to be any different.

Most christians have no concept of what happened in the "church" between the New Testament and now. Taking a historical view, for most of church history (especially in Europe) there has been nothing resembling the faith handed to us by the early Apostles. We have accepted a greek counterfeit and don't even know it.

Not every church is this way of course. Many are good communities of people who live out their faith in favor with God and man. However, it's the larger percentage of them that are simply ritualistic observance of man-made traditions that have obscured faith from those even in the church, and much more to those outside.

I don't but any of it... This is just rallying "approval" Its not a sincere apology...not by any stretch. Frankly I'm surprised to see so many folks fall for this.

Like I said; some individuals in this life are all about leaving their knives in your back sides... Best way to get your defense down is to lull you into warm, fuzzy feelin... with a good ol fashion Kumbaya moment ( like this thread. ) ..

Me thinks possibly he may have been PWI when he said the things he said! Was embarrassed stayed away for awhile and then came back! I have done this exact same thing a few times! I am not perfect and not ONE SINGLE PERSON on this site is. Some think they are LOL!

What was it Yod said earlier: "To be offended is as great a sin as to be offensive." yep I swallowed hard on that one. I better call in a sky crane to get that lumber out of my eye now.

Sorry Jeff, I like you too, but I make no apologies here... One thing about me Jeff , is that in real life, I play for keeps... To that end, I can be lethal or I can be a miracle worker... It all depends on what side of the fence people see me from, and treat me as.

One thing I pride myself on, (And No I aint perfect, never claimed such,, and yall know better than to accuse me of that) ..I have a special knack for catching the 'real' message in prose... I figure, as a musician, its a good idea to develop that skill. Its all about the logic... In the case of Mr LD, the logic in his prose smacks of less than 'above board'.

To illustrate, Let me ask you this... If a feller recklessly and deliberately plays with a loaded gun, and it goes off, and hits your bud in the ass.. Are you gonna buy it, when that feller turns up later and apologizes to the bystanders, but doesn't say squat to the shooting victim. Yeah... I wouldn't buy it either. Too many inconsistencies in his verb, which just suggests to me that he's blowing smoke up everybody's ass.

I don't hand out forgiveness-cards to people who go out of their way to be assholes to others. (for any and all reasons,,, I don't accept excuses.) . We are all adults here... There are consequences. for our actions.. Too many sliders gettin away with sh*t and not stepping up to make right by it. And lest we forget... Life doesn't always offer us a reset button.

The good news here , Jeff...Is that it really doesn't matter what I think... Nobody will go home bleeding for it.

Yes we are all adults! I'll just say that I don't CARE if someone has such a high opinion of themself's that they are going to write a post that has some whacked out cryptic meaning! They can waste their time all they want but that means absolutely ZERO to me! I just don't have the time or inclination to set around and try and figure out what they MIGHT mean! I take a man on his word! So the thing that upset me the most about LD is the way he attacked YOU and I stood up for what I believed to be right. NOW I am doing it again. I ain't gonna worry IF someone is making a fool of me! Frankly I could give a "rats ass" so for now I'll just give LD the benefit of the doubt!
