Yep, it's mostly about preference.

Rockin' tune! Definitely in-your-face high octane rock being played well.

Bravo!

Just an observation from across the pond, bro.

I find that English bands are more focused and even more talented overall than yer average american band. Once spent a week in Camden (1996) listening to english rock bands. It was a pilgrimage I had dreamed of since being a kid and it did not disappoint.

I don't remember seeing a "cover" band, though bands did play some covers. That, by itself, puts yer average english band far ahead of their american counterparts. You've got a great sound going, and a professional attitude that isn't arrogant, so I predict much success for your band.

Rock on.

It's really good! The production quality is quite nice as well. One thing that may make it sound a little bit better is adding some contrast between the verses and the choruses, maybe with a different melody or different dynamics on the vocals.

Hold on, are you two in league or something haha.

Thanks for the ongoing feedback guys!

Yod - thanks for the kind words. I have to admit, I have met quite a few of the more negative musicians in the UK to be honest. The lazy, time wasting and/or arrogant muso's seem to be in the majority from personal experience, however, once and a while the decent ones shine through. A fine example is the band we just supported, who were really cool that we went down well and saying we were the best band on the night giving them a kick up the backside to raise their game. I'm not bragging here by the way haha, just thought it was cool of them to say. Top chaps.

What seems to make British bands "better" in my opinion, is that they understand the importance of writing their own music and being their own band from the beginning. Yes, there will always be copycats and a need for bands to play covers, but there seems to be a consensus vision to be original in England.

I was surprised to learn that the bars in Camden insisted on original bands. I don't know if it was because they didn't want to pay liscencing or they really support creativity, but the result was the same. Every band had a personality. They even PAID them a respectable pittance?

There were 2 bands that I still remember: Cuban Legs was one and the other was Ruby Throat. Don't suppose you ever heard of them?

Unfortunately not yod, though I like the names :)

You're right about the originals thing, I would say most bands like to do their own stuff around here. Doing covers is almost like selling your soul to some of us.

I've been asked to play in wedding bands, etc, many times but even though I would get paid considerably more to do this (get now't in this band, in fact it usually costs us in some way to play), I just can't bring myself to go down that road. Think I'd rather take up a new hobby instead haha

Don't get me wrong though, each unto their own and I've no prob's doing the odd cover to "pay my respects" to my influences or just do a silly cover/complete remake of a cover.
