Plus, I hear tell that Houston has no zoning laws - or very few.
You can turn your house into a music club, and people either wont care or they cant do anything about it - even if it's right next to a police station.

It might be chaotic living, but some would look at it as freedom.

What stops me from texas is heat, humidity, wild hogs, rattlers and killer bees.

Its true... I lived in a suburban styl apt unit, and was surrounded by 30 story bank and oil buildings outta nowhere. Just around the corner was a club (The Agora Ballroom) with great Acts like David Bowie, Bad Finger, Billy Idol, etc... And Here I was trying to water my plants and trim up the ivy that grew everywhere...

Yes it gets hot in many places in Texas gtZip you sound SCARED!
I'm being polite because I REALLY wanted to use the Pu$$y word!
Folks let me SCHOOL you about Texas! If you live on the coast it gets hot & humid 4 months of the year. The other 8 months the weather is MILD!
However if you are in west Texas (PD can vouch) it's dry as HELL and yes there are spiders and rattlesnakes LMAO! If you are in central Texas, HELL YOU ARE IN HEAVEN!

East Texas is beautiful as well. Much forest and many lakes & rivers.


Wild hogs and rattlers taste damn good on the grill.

I've lived and worked all over Texas. We have so many different environments it would be hard to list them all.
Even North East Texas, the South East and the section in the middle are different forest types.

Like Jeff, Central Texas is one of my favorite. I also love the harsh conditions of the South Western ( brush country they call it ) part of the state.

George it depends on what you call hot LOL!
To a Texan 65 to 85 = mild, 85 to 90 = warm, 90 to 105 = HOT
February to May in Texas 50 to 85, June thru Sep. 85 to 100, October thru January 90 to 45.

It's not unusual for East Texas to best 105 ... it's humid and still.

I found it more comfortable out Monahans way @ 105 than here @ 95.

That said I'd rather be hot than cold ... I don't do well in the cold.

Hell, it's too hot here.

I LOVE Texas! I can absolutely tolerate the dry heat in Austin. Even when it's 100 degrees it's totally tolerable to me because it's dry.

Actually Paul, Austin doesn't typically have the dry heat..( it is usually humid) The real dryness starts west, beginning @ Midland, on through to El PAso. One sure testimony to this is the static electricity that dry air induces. In El Paso, we like to sneak up on folks and 'touch' their earlobes... It makes for a loud , stinging zap ... and its funny as hell (Until they start hitting back...)

I have to totally agree, the worst place in the world for heat and humidity is,,is,,,,

Nashville. Even the local stores post their hours, sometimes we open at 8 and most of the time when its too damn hot ,,, we don't,,,, open.

I love Texas and I love Texans' love for Texas! My mom was born in Texas. Maybe that's why I am partial
