To impeach obama, that is.
Listed on the library of congress or (http://thomas.loc.gov)
is a bill known as H.CON.RES.107.IH that is sponsored by Rep Jones, Walter B., Jr. and currently has co-sponsors (not listed at this time.)

This of course is a response to the obama administration's testimony at a Senate Armed Services Committee held on Mar 7, 2012.
Full video found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... zNwOeyuG84

For those not watching the video, our commander in chief's advisers and speakers (Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey) stated that the president does not need congressional approval to engage in war, but rather gains approval from "international powers", namely NATO and the UN.

The current bill (H.CON.RES.107.IH) reads as follows:

H.CON.RES.107 -- Expressing the sense of Congress that the use of offensive military force by a President without prior and clear authorization of an Act of Congress constitutes an impeachable high... (Introduced in House - IH)

HCON 107 IH

112th CONGRESS
2d Session

H. CON. RES. 107
Expressing the sense of Congress that the use of offensive military force by a President without prior and clear authorization of an Act of Congress constitutes an impeachable high crime and misdemeanor under article II, section 4 of the Constitution.

IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
March 7, 2012

Mr. JONES submitted the following concurrent resolution; which was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary

CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
Expressing the sense of Congress that the use of offensive military force by a President without prior and clear authorization of an Act of Congress constitutes an impeachable high crime and misdemeanor under article II, section 4 of the Constitution.

Whereas the cornerstone of the Republic is honoring Congress's exclusive power to declare war under article I, section 8, clause 11 of the Constitution: Now, therefore, be it

Resolved by the House of Representatives (the Senate concurring), That it is the sense of Congress that, except in response to an actual or imminent attack against the territory of the United States, the use of offensive military force by a President without prior and clear authorization of an Act of Congress violates Congress's exclusive power to declare war under article I, section 8, clause 11 of the Constitution and therefore constitutes an impeachable high crime and misdemeanor under article II, section 4 of the Constitution.

Unfortunately AV, this is becoming more and more the established "NORM" for all our presidents over the last 70 years.

What is disgusting is the "NORM" has become we need worldwide approval.

I have stated before that WAR should only be undertaken with the complete understanding of the American people. War has the gravest of consequence at all levels. Congress is supposed to represent that complete understanding of the American people.

The right of our commander in chief is to be able to use exceptional powers in the name name of protecting America from imminent attack. This has been interpreted way to liberally for way to many years. Way to many of our wonderful young people have been committed to die because of this.

We actually have to let the world know, UN, NATO,,,,, That when we commit our military to any action, it will only be with full resolve to conquer, take the treasure and LEAVE. This alone would fear into every little hitler that crops up. That is where Congress comes in.

As far as impeaching president Obama, he is no more guilty than so many other presidents. JCP is right in that if you don't like it, vote him out.

If you really want to do something, work to change the attitude that military action on an emotional whim is ok. It Is Not! Sad state of affairs this country has been dragged down to.

You are actually funny !!!

"Now you know the more you harp, the less inclined I am to appease you.
But you know I'll still tease you..

If you are really sharp, you'll forget the harp and figure out a way to get me to do what you need me to".

Rhyme unintentional but amusing. lol

Air , thanks for sharing this... That video, and the very facts surrounding this case are precisely why I never voted for Obama...

From the very beginning, I told all my friends, that I would never vote for Obama, simply because his resume, severely lacked any evidence of professional experience, competency and capability to act as our Commander in Chief. I never held contempt against him as a political leader(in some social community fashion) but I sure couldn't see him as a prez.

Its come full circle ...and this case reinforces what I had always contended. He clearly doesn't know how to do his job...Doesn't understand what he's supposed to uphold and guard.

He's just a figurehead. What the hell else can he do but f**k it up more?

Presidents are what they are pretty early in their term, in that if they haven't made good on their promises by now, they probably won't.

I don't think Obama means to do wrong, he's just stuck in the same rut that anyone that got elected to that office would be stuck in if the RNC didn't like like him at all. (always one side that hates the other, so very singularly minded it's shameful)

And the only thing shittier than that is the lobbyists, we should hang every single one of those corrupt jackasses that we can catch.
They are ruining our political system and I am glad that I don't know any and they never get within reach because I wouldn't want to be tested on that level.

It was never my intention get you to appease me... There is nothing I need from you. Rather, I merely point out the irony in your own words... You complain about other posters. You "Try" to dictate the boards, and yet ...you aren't quite meeting up to your own bar of standards...

Post the Photo Scott! Show your face... It's not to appease me...rather It's to reassure us all, that you are not a hypocritical troll , living under a bridge, and that you can be taken seriously...

In some circles, they call it "earning respect" You are long over due, bro.

If you look hard enough, you can even find my picture online and I don't mean in a yearbook.

I reported this as non-biased as I could, and this is a major topic so I posted it because information is very key in the world.
Yet I get flak anyways.
If you are mad at me there is only a handful of options why.
1. You don't like information
2. You somehow think I am lying (even with all the citation)
3. You generally like the direction the country is heading
4. You don't like the Constitution

If these (or anything similar) are your views then you are no friend of mine anyways. I swore an oath when I went into the Air Force to defend the Constitution against all enemies both foreign and domestic. I take this oath very seriously.
