If you tell anyone that any one thing or another is the sh*t, you are invariably wrong.

You need to have a basic logic class to get the fallacy of composition idea.

You like your coloring crayon and I like mine.

No one crayon is better than the other, you just like yours better the way I like mine better.

Now if you have a great acoustic, that's heavenly but I never intend to go out and spend 1K on an acoustic guitar that I consider suitable.

I can go get an electric that is average and plays ok for about 70$.

TRY THAT WITH AN ACOUSTIC, JACKASS.

Yep, even though an acoustic and electric share the same strings and frets, they are different instruments that should be played differently to achieve different results. I use both and respect both. The only limitations we have making music with them are the limitations we put on ourselves.

Nope, never played a $70 acoustic or electric guitar that was worth a damn. $300-$400 can take you far though.

Good news is that I jammed a little yesterday with another guitarist I found through Bandmix - acoustically. We're going to see how things work, but we're on the same wavelength and we're looking at doing some songs on acoustic that a lot of people would not attempt without an electric guitar and a full band - how about the Allman's Whipping Post? Pink Floyd's Comfortably Numb?

You can't get a $70 acoustic to sound like anything but sh*t, but you can take a $70 electric, change the pickups, tuners, give it a fret job .... and it'll sound half decent through a good set up.
Go to my youtube site and find one of my newer songs - On The Edge -and listen to the guitar parts, all done with a $24.50 (no kidding) Chinese Strat clone straight out of the box. Of course this is a project guitar, and I'm going to sand the frets, adjust the tremolo, set the intonation a little better just for starters, but for that price, how can you go wrong?!
ADDED - here's the direct link: http://youtu.be/NK1wrN7qc-8

Shhh don't talk like a stupid ass, record and post it !!!!!

I was going to bash you over the "no music" issue, but I noticed you had some.

I just listened to it.

You sound like Jon Bon Jovi on acoustic guitar and The Boss Tones for the rest of the music.

I am glad you like your acoustic guitar.
I think we can all agree that it's easier to get an electric guitar that sounds decent as opposed to a similar acoustic guitar that sounds as good, right?

If you say no to that, I know you are delusional.

In regards to Seagulls, I have an older 12 string that's made from cedar. Great tone. I used to have Martin D-28 but the thing was nothing but problems, although the tone was awesome when it was playable. Right now I have a cheap Ibanez PF-6 that I play a lot. Still like to get another Martin someday though.

Don't let Scotty get you down. He does sometimes get a little surly in the morning but he's not generally a bad guy. There is a whole world of amazing acoustic guitar music out there that he is currently unwilling to consider and that is not a crime.

Keep on rockin' GuitarMikeB!

Thanks, bro!
The great thing about music is that even if you can't find the right guys to play with, or a place to play out at, just playing the music is its own reward!

I don't know many folks who do the iTune thing, but know plenty who still buy CDs. I guess it depends on your age, and the age group of your potential buyers.

Dude, give me a fing break you dingdong.

You and your 3 guitar band going to do a version of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" or wtf?

You can have a reunion show when you turn 70, if any of the blokes are still alive.

If you can sell anything to anyone, I wish you good luck, chuck.

Such a friendly warm guy. bet you're lonely. I see you coming down on a ton of people on this forum, but checking your 'band' profile, I see one tune, no videos, no actual photos, no website or other links. A google finds a few tunes on soundclick, but nothing else.
