Was in California recently and diesel was $4.60 at one place. The cheapest I saw it was $4.04

In Texas I can get diesel for $3.89 in some places

I drive a diesel
and I'm paying 4.05
and there is no good reason for that, cept the euro is at 1.31 to the dollar
so all the distillates go to europe.

Most of the cost of a gallon of gas goes to taxes, yes Jeff I think we all know that. And that's as it should be. There is only a finite amount of the stuff, so we need to "encourage" people to drive less. But those taxes should also be used to develop new energy sources to replace oil.

My festiva(S) can get over 50 mpg, I can own and operate 6 or more for less than the cost of a new car, and unlike a prius I can get a battery for $50....

And I can still haul ALL my gear to a show using it. 8)

I sold this one towards the end of last year. The owner texted me with "is it possible I just got 54 mpg?!!" 8)

And before you ask I've found 11 with over 500K miles. Many on all original running gear. 8)
My buddy who now has 650K on his.

Thank you FINALLY some dialog! Jimmy you didn't read it either? Most of the price of a gallon of gas goes to the raw material CRUDE OIL! Of which The greedy RICH OIL Co. has NO CONTROL of the cost! Contrary to what the CURRENT administration wants you to believe! BECAUSE MOST OIL is IMPORTED and the SUPPLY IS A commodity TRADED ON THE WORLD MARKET! ONLY A SMALL amount of (crude oil) is produced DOMESTICALLY! If we WERE ALLOWED to be energy INDEPENDENT perhaps we COULD not embolden and enrich OUR ENEMY! that way we could spend LESS on SAVING THE world and DEVELOP those alternative and renewable energy's and save the WORLD! Having said That! IT's so much more complicated! DAMN I'm out of breath
