NASA-Arizona is holding it's annual Night Event at Firebird Raceway on Saturday March 31st. HPDE, TT and Race Groups

NASA-AZ Racing begins on FB West at 8 AM and then moves to FB Main at 3 PM.

At 3 PM Drifters take over FB West for a major competition.

Over 10,000 spectators, racers and drifters attend this event.

We are looking for some bands, dual and solo musicians that would like to showcase their talent from 5 PM until 11 PM with some 30 to 45 minute sets.

We don't have much of a budget for entertainment but will supply a stage, some equipment, entrance into the event and hospitality food & Beverage to those that would like to participate.

Great time to showcase your talent to the thousands of people that will attend this event.

If your interested in doing a set, please PM me for details and scheduling.

I would post the poster for the event, but don't see a way to add a JPeg file....

Cozman - 10,000 people, all the goings on, yet you expect bands to haul their equipment in, set up and play a set for free? 6 hours, say 8 sets/bands - if you took $1 from each of those 10000 people's admission fee, you could pay each band $1250. Subtract $250 each for the beer and food, and that's still $1000 each.
I'm sure you'll find some takers, but that's why musicians are starving!

Hey, J!
Hey, it's only about 27 years since that one picture - sh*t where'd the time go?! I rotate the picture in my profile to keep it active, the forum pic seems to not update at the same rate. Shows, at least, that I'm not just a wannabe, just an 'old timer' who's trying to get back into the gigging thing. My wife says ' you can grow old, just don't grow up!'
Rock and roll will keep you young, as long as you don't overdo it. I look at guys like Todd Rundgren, Peter Frampton, Paul McCartney, Ian Hunter - into their 60s or older and still making music.
Thanks for the songs comment.

GuitarMikeB, good luck starting your new musical quest! I'm having the time of my life playing music. Somedays I feel older than dirt, when I play music I still feel 18! Your right music has kept me young. Now days when I do a gig I can fill a venue up with my grown children alone LOL! I knew having all these kids would pay off someday!

If you guys offer 20% of the gate, and 20% of concessions, I bet you could get a lot of excellent bands to cover your entertainment gap. I am not understanding why , with a 10,000 body count, you aren't prepared to roll proper about this.

How come we always get "free loaders"?

They expect us to load for free, play for free, leave for free...

Can I fill a giant bucket of piss and dump it for free on your whole she-bang>?

Or you must think that we all eat for free and live for free?

Because it's all free for us.. ??<!?!>???>!?>?!>?>!?>!?>!???>

PS: I've got family in your area, I'll make sure and let them know how you think of the bands. That will definitely stop my nephew from attending in general.

Now Scotty - at least they aren't insisting upon a registration fee of 1k plus permits and insurance down payment. :D

I remember the president of some fraternaty telling our agent at the last minute he'd like us to play for free to be part of what they were doing - whatever the heck that was!

He told us to pack our sh*t.

Hey you know that musicians do play for free on occasion, but it's really pathetic to ask them to do it.

The president of the university asked my old band to play for free.

I asked her "do I have to pay to go to school here"?
She looked surprised and said, "of course".

I then said, "well then don't ask me to do something you people would never do".

And we played off campus and drew more than the regular festivities, which lead to the school being extremely dicky about stuff during A.L.F festival.

I was catering at the time and the drunken ho kept giving me sh*t because i didn't wipe the lemon twist around the lip of the glass when I made her Vodka Twist w/ lemon.

She kept requesting me as the bartender and berating me.

I got her ass though, she got the "drop of Visine" in her drink. LOL

(known to cause uncontrollable diarrhea and horrible gas pains)

(Do not attempt this at home, I found out later that it can cause you to be hospitalized and that's not funny at all.)
