Oh yeah, the one you like but won't endorse. Yes I'm a Democrat, have been my whole life, yesterday was the first time I voted for a Republican. And not for the conspiracy theories poisoning your brain, because I actually like him. I realize there is a (slim) chance that Obama might not get reelected, so Ron Paul is someone I could live with. Get it?

Well Shazaam Jimmy! I am glad you are FINALLY seeing the conservative light! I won't endorse him for obvious reasons his foriegn policy SUCKS!
That may not be a big one for you Jimmy but it is for me. I'll take Santorum, Romney, Newt, even Ron Paul, anyone over the current dumb@ss! Hey dude I know it sounds like I am mad but I'm Not! Just passionate!

Well Haley you are def right that Obama has a tough road cut out for him ... gas is def gonna hurt him, too.
One question
If Obama is stopping the development of oil in the US then why is the US EXPORTING its most oil since 1949 ?
http://www.foxnews.com/us/2011/12/05/us ... -exporter/
And isnt world demand REALLY the reason gas is priced the way it is - not President Obama ?
The FOX article suggests we exported more then we imported.
Gonna be a good summer of back and forth between the two parties.
Obama -2012 Hillary -2016

You are right about that T J we are exporting more oil than ever before and Obamma can't stand that. Its called free enterprise!

Ron Paul is the only one whose record on issues is consistant. He is the only one who actually served in them military. He is a doctor and has delivered over 6000 babies.

I love his foriegn policy. War is too horrible to play at it and we have been playing. Our national interests are simply not on the line. Plus, and it don't matter if you agree or not, the money pump is running dry. I'm afraid we might end up abandoning much equipment and perhaps some people when the realization sets in that there is simply no more money.

And Ron Paul deplores the fascist drug war and TSA - two halmarks of the war against Americans by our govt.

Well spoke Mike. Over ten years of undeclared war have drained this country. Paul wants to follow the constitution, what a revelation! Let the middle east blow each other up, it's time for us to butt out. Why do we need over 900 military bases all over the globe? And why should we sacrifice our liberty for some artificial notion of security. Lastly, the war on drugs has been a miserable failure.

It is important to note that Ron Paul is not against using the military for defense and has outright said he does not believe in isolationism. Simply that we are over extended and militarily over ambitious. It makes simple sense that if hundreds of billions of dollars goes to the war making industry, nothing suites them better than a constant state of war. Every priority for the military is now based upon rapid deployment and mobility, shoot first and diplomacy after. If billions of dollars go towards the DHS in the war against terrorism, once again, it is a war that will never have a definitive victory or a conclusion. The way I see it this time around is about ownership, because give it another four years and it will be out of OUR hands.

Could anyone guess on September 10, 2001, we would have TSA agents searching your junk at airports and mobile x-ray vans surveying commuters? Who thought that was ok? A standing regular army of 20,000 troops for the specific purpose of domestic deployment and non-lethal suppression? An official declaration that any citizen can be detained by the army without trial or charges and sent to Guantanamo indefinitely? Search without notification, never mind due process and probable cause. What does it actually take for anyone to connect those dots?

Look at the recent NYPD cops spying on Rutgers religious groups, mosques in Patterson and Newark NJ. This is a mere municipal policing force, actually carrying out investigations in a different state. After TWO years it was disbanded after it was discovered accidentally. No arrests were made and no charges filed.

TWO years, does it really take two years to know when you are wasting your time? Not only that but much of the funding came from a government grant to use against DRUG TRAFFICKING, at the charge of 135 million dollars. The Patriot Act at work, spending millions of dollars sending cops to church. Bravo! I didn?t vote for Bloomberg, so I would much prefer that NYC keep their friggin zookeeper and his nazis on their side of the river. We got enough stupidity over here, we don?t need to be importing it too.

You give the military, any police force, or any governmental agency money and you can bet damn well they will FIND a way to spend it. Any of the status quo at this point is just hell bent on pissing away our tax money to make political speaking points, not progress. Oh and I forget, it is all about friggin health care??? Yeah right we can kill 100k civilians overseas to keep Haliburton in the black, but the government is all weepy eyed and sensitive about our well being? At least when siding with tyrannical policies and causes, Obama does do it apologetically. I guess that makes it all ok. Romney is just Ronobamabush doing it all over again and Santorum happy being a preacher. Bush was doing God?s work, I have had more than enough of that nonsense. The last thing we need is another nutty crusade like Iraq. So given the choices of what to see in this circus, Ron Paul just seems to me a little more substance and less of the freak show that the media adores.

Paul will cut $1 trillion the first year! Most of that will be fat from the military.

If you've ever played the board game Risk you know that if you spread yourself too thin around the globe you will lose the game. A constant state of war weakens a country quickly. Wake up America!

He has some good ideas - Most will be cherry-picked by other pols - like Obama who just proposed closing 4 bases in Europe.
RP's own party wont give him respect though
One thing I DONT like about his policies is his kill FEMA idea ...
Many states get pounded by these natural disasters and folks need help
Its the UNITED states - we gotta help our fellow states when ever we can.

It's hard to cut things that really are needed and make sense, and FEMA is one of them, but it's really the people of the state's responsibility to pick up the pieces when disaster strikes. Tornadoes, wild fires, hurricanes, and earthquakes happen regularly, and the federal govt really can't afford to make everything better every time something happens. We have some hard choices to make.

I hear you ... but I bet FEMA money is nowhere near the money spent on Social Security and other entitlements ... the real problem.
I dont mind my tax dollars helping out those in need ... not a bit.

I personally know at least five people that receive benefits because they "can't" work (most have mental conditions such agoraphobia). What should be done with these folks? The mentally ill are now left for their families to deal with, and often end up on the streets. Why are we sending billions of dollars overseas when there are people suffering right here?

RP has been going to Washington for 30 years - maybe you should ask him.
