Well that's a lot better than the other tripe you posted. Nothing real inventive, just good rock, ala White Stripes, Black Keys, The Hives, etc.

Its ok... The trouble with your claims about musically ignorant old fogies... is that yo cant tell us what the underlying influences of this piece is, but we sure can tell.. That said...This piece is NOT original by any stretch

Do some research on the following:
1) Jeff Beck
2) Steely Dan
3) Yes
4) Police(Sting)

Your song here carries all the elements described thereof. Yet, you probably believed that this was something new...

Young People! I tell ya!

Simplistic like Zappa.....

Well I hear what you're saying, the music's pretty good but I wouldn't go so far as to compare it to Zappa. The vocals remind me of The Police. That's not a bad thing, but it still doesn't do that much for me.

"Young People! I tell ya! "

"I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now."

Some people get stuck in the 60's & 70's.

Instead of living in the past, I prefer to hang with the young. The future of rock and roll depends on them.

BTW, my first concert was the radical Jerry Lee Lewis in 1962.

And if you really want others to check out your music, don't be such a dickhead.

Win friends and influence people, that's funny. Last time I saw Rush they were still playing the same stuff from 30 years ago. Pink Floyd is still milking those moldy oldies too. Jeff Beck, now he's hangin with the youth. That 22year -old sweetie that played bass for him at crossroads, that's how bass should be played. There is something to be said for Geritol bands, as long as they get their naps.

RJ

Beware. Our words come back to haunt us.

Many years ago I wrote a song called "young man blues" dissing the old squares I enountered.

"They see me walking down the street and give me the bad bad eye
Then their old bones begin to creak and they lean back and take sigh..
Won't bother me much longer cause pretty soon they're all gonna die!"
etc

I'm still blasting away. But the clock is ticking. I hope you can parlay your youthful cockiness into something good and maybe just maybe, make it big.

Best of luck.

Talbot

No grand illusions here Mike. I'm no phenom, and at 58 I'm not what the industry is wanting. They want phenomenal youth, like Umphreys McGee. They will be around for some time to come.

There's your problem RJ, who cares what
the industry wants. Your 58 and haven't realized
yet that what you want is what should matter,
it's too late now, you might as well keep on being
what you think others want you to be.

You crack me up you ain't about sh#t!
