Gosh darn Grant That's a great song. I don't like the effect on your voice in the premix thru the whole song. My opinion the song should start off with a dry sound on your voice and add the effects during the chorus or second verse and then end with the dry sound (I'm talking on the vocals). That Martin sounds awesome. However both the scratch track and premix track both have their positives. That Martin sounds better in the scratch track and so does the sound of you voice. Dude you don't need that much effect on your voice or guitar. IMO they are both like a Fine Wine!
That song sounds SO much like something the Beatles would have written and recorded! If Sir Paul heard it I am sure he would be proud! Wow!

Much Thanks Jeff! :)

Re Voice effect.. . I gotta ask George (who does the engineering) about it... (That's how dumb I am. LOl!)
But You have a good point about the draw from Flat to wet into the effect... I will discuss it with him..

I agree about the Martin in the scratch version. In that version, we had two goals...1) To lay it down as our blue print, and 2) to assess the Martin as a featured instrument.
We didn't want this song to be about "Grant and his Martin, singing about a homeless guy)... Instead, We wanted the song to be its own creature which sort of meant some sacrifice on the feature aspect of the Martin...in favor of balanced blend of all inst/voices, etc. However...I'll review this with him and we'll play around with the levels some more...

Also, the effects intend to portray some ethereal dream state (slightly painful and very sad) ...after all it's about a guy with a fantasy about a woman he loves and can never have...

If Sir Paul ever hears any of my work... I will scream like a girl and tell everybody that Paul heard my song...LOL!

Thanks again, Jeff, for giving it a listen

[Dog, I feel a Lennon - America influence in this song. It has a great instant feel and impression to it. Lyricly good but not 100%. Your pronunciation is
a little too focused and dramatic but the vocal sound is good.
This is a relaxed Sunday afternoon song on a pleasant sunny day.

Good Song.[/b]
