If you're gonna quote someone at least get it right:

"I cried when I wrote this song, sue me if I play too long."

Teenagers, geez.

If anybody is interested click on "Tell me"

Klumo got your message the "In your eyes" acoustic back tracks are on my player for download, first 16 beats are intro or A minor G & C major repeated twice then the first verse starts, the whole thing repats again before the second verse.

There is a break before the In your eyes part comes in as for the outro repeat in your eyes 3 times.

If you decide not to use them I'm Ok with it.

of course I am interested.

I started learning music with Jazz, I think it is such a challenge, and keeps me interested all around in music.

It has all the good music theory giblets to round out the meal of music.

I should write a small sample, and throw it up here. I am not that bad at Jazz guitar.

I absolutely love SOME jazz, but dislike other jazz.
.
The thing about jazz is that - I think - most people have a personal idea of what jazz IS.
. . . maybe not so much here on Bandmix, which is comprised of musicians of all calibers.
.
There must be a hundred styles of jazz.
I really, really dislike a good perecentage of Jazz.
But I LOVE Jazz.
Funny, eh?
.
Jazz is like wine: I only like a few varieties. But the ones I like - I like a LOT.
.
Maybe I should stop listing my style of music as 'jazz.'
That description probably turns away more perspective listeners than it attracts.
If they're expecting - say - "Las Vegas Lounge-Lizard Jazz," and they HATE that kind of jazz (which I NEVER play), they'd never want to give me a listen.
.
And I DO play several other styles of music . . .
Sigh, I dunno . . .
Whatever . . .

If jazz is like wine rhythm man I must
like all styles, cause you won't see me
turning down any variety of wine. It's
almost 5 o'clock.

I think music styles or genera
are living things,
they are born, they live and they die
I think jazz died around 65'
all you can do is go back and look at a picture of it.

married to JonesJazz.com (free cd) Mike Jones, who is the pianist who opens for Penn & Teller, studied with Oscar Peterson, Dave McKenna, and gets compared to Art Tatum constantly- was featured in Downbeat a few months back.
Studied jazz vocals, was pals with Ravi Coltrane in college, second husband was a trumpeter. Now I'm on the 3rd and last husband, and fortunately he also played with Aerosmith before so I can play my music around him without him cringing. Much.

Heh - I'm with someone who doesn't play music; she doesn't play any instrument, won't sing, and has never opened for anyone.
:)
And me? I am self-taught, so I never studied with anyone.
So I have no bragging rights, eh?
Not only that, but my ampliers total less than 500 Watts.
And I play on an off-brand guitar.
So - I guess that all means that I'm a crummy musician.
:)

Don't forget rhythm- you get to wave at all the folks who have no idea where Madison CT is when they're heading to NYC on the train-- you have the rights to brag about being in the town Kate Hepburn loved best. (so jealous, I am. yup)

.

Big fan of Jazz here. Some types of music are harder to get into and Jazz is one of them. It took me a long time to grasp the concept, interpretations and delivery of the structures of Jazz, as I was coming from a very limited musical palette consisting of pop music and radio friendly hits. It wasn't until I became a student of music, acquiring a deeper understanding of syncopation, improvisation and form, that Jazz impressions started to take hold. The closest example I can compare to describe my situation would be going from an art lover of classical art; Micheal Angelo, da Vincci; Switching over to Picasso and Monet. Two different approaches. My gateway albums to Jazz were: A Kind Of Blue (Miles Davis), Blue Note Recordings (Wes Montgomery) and Giant Steps (John Coltrane). The Theory of ii, V, I, studying Melodic Minors and cadences/resolution solidified my understanding of jazz functions. I have met people who are not musicians but love Jazz as much as I do.

Frank Zappa probably would have turned a LOT of people on to the powers of jazz musically for rock, even country, had he lived long enough- fortunately his sons are dissecting his recordings take by take, and making it so that people who want to see how to build tracks can do it- just so much to learn in solid jazz progressions. (hubby and I are both kind of anti-easy listening that calls itself jazz- no challenges no depth there.)

Years ago when one of the guys in the band would loose his place for a moment, we would all look at each other and say "That was Jazz"

Yup... or just say I meant to do that.
Sometimes we'd just yell "SNIPER"
