lalong wrote:I?m all for making the folks I work with successful and then in turn, myself along with it. I don?t care where it comes from. The fact remains I probably couldn?t get paid enough, not to do it.

Is that really a good thing?

How much time, effort and money, does music costs? I?m not with that this is some divine gift to humans, no more than the assumption from Gatling, that his gun will save lives. In most cases if you want the model of a catastrophic life, a successful entertainer is about as far as you need to look. Sex drugs and rock n? roll is more than enough of an incentive for me and sure I?d be alright with some coin too. Claiming it was executing the will of the almighty, I think it trivializes the universe?s priorities just a little. On a good note (pun intended), It?s not like I can claim ?the devil made me do it? either.

I happen to be agnostic, in my religious views if there is a God, it?s oblivious to the deeds of mankind. Sorry Christians your God doesn?t make me do anything, but on the bright side, neither does mine. Believe in whatever you want, I most certainly do. If I were to have a religiously inspired song, it wouldn?t have a happy ending. Although all of the suffering religion has brought us over the centuries, may be worth more than a few verses.

Those who know and believe in my Christian God.. will understand and know the magic of our musical craft and they know what I'm talking about ...Those who don't know or believe in my Christian God, may have obtained the magic of the musical craft but still won't know what I am talking about.

If you don't know what am talking about, then all the pragmatic rationale in the world you offer up is just a waste of time, since none of what you say reflects anything that fills "my shoes" and/or vice versa.

Now this is strictly my opinion, but As I see it. with respect to 'will' of God, ..We actually do music for the same reasons anybody else does it..Sex Drugs and R & R...but the difference between us Christians and the agnostics /Atheists ...is that we know who to thank at the end of the day...(It aint you or your corporate bosses that were thanking...)

And just so there is no misunderstanding... Even if I am wrong about my Christianity, That is...if there were in fact ...no God at all, one thing is very clear..to put faith into any ideology that is less than a God, is a guaranteed death sentence on my own constitution and resolve of the world. I would have to be a fool to believe in you (mankind), since at the end of the day, you and any number of your contrived systems will fail me. At least with my subjunctive God (a very simple system) , I have 'hope'. Even if my hope is a lie to my self, , its still much better than what you offer. To that end, it is my Hope which puts the magic in my craft.. and that's what I am talking about.... Those who get this, will know...Those who don't, wont know. IF you dont know... Oh well not my place to judge...We'll all figure out the truth in the end.

where did anyone come up with these ideas?
can you tell me some other form of human striving that doesn't have suffering part of the picture.
what about the advances in science?
before modern science we didn't have nuclear fallout,
we didn't PCB's and DDT and associated mutations.
pharmaceutical companies.....mmmmmmmm there is a sport for you.
there is plenty of evidence that free speech caused a few wars of it's own.

is there a liberal on the planet that doesn't live in a cartoon world?

Why are "conservatives" so afraid of science? Without science the average lifespan would be 30, people would still be dying of polio and the flu, you wouldn't be typing on a computer, driving a car or playing an electric guitar. Thanks for the laugh.

you should try reading comprehension,
I have nothing against science at all
love it.
it provides me with numerous benefits.
as dose the study of theology. philosophy and art.
it's nice you got a laugh, though laughing at imaginary jokes might lead people to think you're an imbecile.
not that there is anything wrong with that.

Like anything science can be corrupted by evil people, namely huge corporations and governments. Scientists are just people who need to eat and pay rent so they have to work somewhere, and often do things that go against their personal beliefs. But it is my firm belief that science is the ONLY thing that can save the human race. If God exists He gave up on us a long time ago.

Atheists hate Agnostics more than the religious, because the religious think there's the possibility the Agnostic can be converted, while the Atheist knows the Agnostic can never be changed.

an atheist is a person kneels down and prays every day
"God, please help me to not think about you"

an agnostic is a person who's decided that the silent treatment is the best way to get God's attention.

If the agnostic can't be changed, isn't
he a atheist, just a semantic game?
