Music is extremely competitive, sorry to wake you. But the best way to advance is to build a network of bands, musicians and fans, hence my presence here.

I couldn't be happier with my success in music. I've been playing in bands for over thirty years, record and gig when I want, have met a ton of cool people in the biz and have a nice little following of people who love my music. What's not to love?

If I missed the premier of your music I apologize. It must have been while I blinked.

Everyone?
Not everyone here plays covers. And I have no jealousy towards her...I just know crap when I hear it.
Even my own

if it's crap then i suppose her fans won't buy it, I myself haven't seen it
having no interest in Cyrus or nirvana,
seems like a lot of sweat for no work to me.

 I knew we had something in common Jimmy

I'm mean and I'm antisocial. I sit home and play alone
everyday and I love it. People piss me off. I can record
and gig anytime I want to, but I don't want to, people
piss me off. You know I had a following for awhile, but
I didn't like them. I'm a contradiction one day I want
to play out, the next I don't, I like my house with 2
rehearsal studios in it.

I'll have been back in music for 4 years this July,
went from giant rock band, to playing with lesser talents,
to the last year and a half, I rarely leave the house,I'm
antisocial. I tell people what I think outloud in public in
front of anybody, it's why I stay home and rarely drive..
Yet the Lord has answered all my prayers, and I feel like
I've asked for too much, but bring on the new year I'm
pulling this music farther up the ladder with a little help
from above.

I think Mileys talented, tho I didn't watch the video.
Bet her Dad's proud.

Thanks for reminding me boys, about covers that is.

When I played in cover bands I mostly played bass. Easy enough usually and no big challenge.

Playing lead is harder I think with covers - I lose interest and let the licks take me somewhere else. Probably because I'm in such a damn hurry. I'm almost as old as Ozzie Osbourne so I have to get it done with my own stuff.

But lately, for fun, I learned bits of songs as diverse as "Symphny of Destruction" to "What Child is This?"

This post reminded me of a favorite I'd starting working up a while back and abandoned - the theme from "Exodus." Has a lot of power to it and it fits with what I'm doing now. Time to revisit.

You know, I wish I could find something about Miley Cyrus to actually like.

It's sad that she is doing music and yet she is covering other people's tunes, considering she isn't starving for material of her own.

It's not a bad thing if the tunes are obscure and she does it better, but the answer to both of those questions in this case are "no" and "No".

No, the tune is far from obscure.
and
No, she stank that song up badly. (I distinctly heard Kurt roll over in his casket)

She gets even lower marks for her attire or lack thereof and she's too young to try and use sex appeal.

Is Minnie Mouse going to show up next in a bikini and do a photo shoot for Playboy?

She's out of her element and trying to cash in on someone who was more than she will ever be.

THINK ABOUT IT....
Would you want to be in her situation and have to do SMELLS LIKE TEEN SPIRIT?

I doth protest. I would fight that tooth and nail.

"It's not in my genre and we don't so it justice". That is exactly what I would say.

Next they'd have ya singing JOHNNY MATHIS "Chances are I'll wear a silly grin"...etc.

I'm cool with her doing the song. I just wish she would quit dancing! She reminded me of Elaine, I swear she dances just like Elaine on Seinfeld!

Julia Louis-Dreyfus

Is who I think of every time I see spastic musicians "dancing" in the various punk bands I see on late night TV from time to time. Actually, I believe she forever set the standard for evaluating bad dancing with her monumental performance on Seinfeld. How could anyone ever forget that episode?

Slacker, thats one of my all time favorite episodes! That one and the one where they buy underground shower heads from the Russian guy because their landlord put in the low flow shower heads! Or the Soup Nazi episode! Or the one where Jerry tries to get his car stolen because his mechanic stunk so bad and left an aweful smell in it!

Oh that was too funny..

You are absolutely right. I watched another video of her in South America and she was horrible to watch dance..

She looked like she was in pain from a jungle spider bite. lol
