You know, there is one song I forgot to mention that is extremely sad... Live's "Overcome," that was really depressing when they made the September 11th video for it.

Bass Boy wrote:Hey Craig, I came upon this one after checking out the Adam Sandler Thanksgiving tune you posted. Sandler is one talented dude...

Ha ha. Those cars were definitely what he had in mind when he wrote that number. LOL

Have you seen his animated movie "8 Crazy Nights"? (I think that's the right title) It's a musical with Sandler's typically hilarious lyrics. I'm pretty sure Sandler wrote all the songs for it.

Check out "Bum Diddy Diddy Diddy Bum Bum" here:

Watch it to the end where they all start singing.

Pretty funny stuff.

"I wonder if that guy ever wiped his ass with the wrong hand?"

LMAO!!

:D

Pretty good Craig !!

Was it just me or could you hear Roy Orbison kicking butt on Sandler's part? Sounds like something he would write.

Take care bud

I dunno, whenever I'm drinkin' to forget what's-her-name I want to hear Fool That I Am by Etta James, or Goodbye by Emmylou Harris.

as usual, ill add something no one's ever heard. but, then im so odd.

its "Elsie", by the Divinyls, from their very good first album (from way back in '81). its about some degenerate woman whos schizophrenic, uneducated, impoverished, addicted to drugs, and the kicker of it all-- shes totally alone in the world.

sorry if this is boring, but here are the lyrics:

She never had an education
She uses life as her vocation
Standing on ledges clinging to the edges
The worlds a hard place to land on

She has this one way conversation
Trying to avoid a confrontation
Memories of the kind shes rather leave behind
The worlds a hard place to land on

Life can be lonely can be very sad
Can be something you wish you never had

She never had any affection
So she relates well to rejection
No stories wait discovery
Dreams have passed recovery
The worlds a hard place to land on

She just sleeps all day
In her squalid little slum
And takes little white pills
To make her body feel numb
And its dark and dirty
And theres nothing left to eat
And in her heart theres a feeling of defeat
Smells of bus and fornication
And a bottle of cheat scent
Should she stick around
If this is all that life meant...

'Elsie' is indeed a sad song.
It' like someone took "Elanor Rigby,' and tried to do 'em one better.

 That would be "Rainbow Eyes" By Rainbow

She's been gone since yesterday
Oh I didnt care
Never cared for yesterdays
Fancies in the air

No sighs or mysteries
She lay golden in the sun
No broken harmonies
But Ive lost my way
She had rainbow eyes
Rainbow eyes
Rainbow eyes

Love should be a simple blend
A whispering on the shore
No clever words you cant defend
They lead to never more

No sighs or mysteries
She lay golden in the sun
No broken harmonies
But Ive lost my way
She had rainbow eyes
Rainbow eyes
Rainbow eyes

Summer nights are colder now
Theyve taken down the fair
And all the lights have died somehow
Or were they ever there

No sighs or mysteries
She lay golden in the sun
No broken harmonies
But Ive lost my way
She had rainbow eyes

Uuuuh, uuh

Well, people are falling apart here I see. Starting to cry and all. I better just do everyone a favor.

*Grabs a box of tissues* Take 'em while they last. Lol.

Another sad song, Bittersweet Symphony, The Verve.

LMAO @ Guitaranatomy

I like the Verve though. Just put them on a compilation CD, with some other groups I think of as "Smooth Alternative" or maybe "Mellow Alternative" groups like...

Vertical Horizon
Collective Soul
Switchfoot
The Verve Pipe
Tonic

And a few others
