I just launched a new fake news website January 1, called www.levitynews.com Feel free to check it out. There's a comment form on the home page, feel free to enter a comment if you like. After reading the stories you'll see that I've got a lot of free time on my hands thanks to this wonderful recession we're in. Couldn't think of a better way to spend some of my spare time...

Hey Paperdog, try again to log in, we've been editing, tweaking, changing templates etc. a good part of the day (my editor on the east coast has been a busy beaver). I just tried it from your post and it worked fine...

Dizzizz wrote:Bob, you included the period to end your sentence inside your URL codes. That's what caused PaperDog's error. PaperDog (and anyone else having a problem), just delete the period after ".com" in the address bar to access the website.
Thanks for the info. We're finding all kinds of weird things that don't work exactly right. My computer incompetence is shining through.

Just took the "." out, hopefully that'll work better.

Just so we're clear, that problem was here on bandmix, not on your site.

But on your site, in the disclaimer at the bottom, that should be "copyright", not "copywrite".
. Thanks again for yet another good catch. Maybe YOU should be an editor!

Viewed the Page:

Bob, Its a good start.

Are you familiar with 'The Onion"? http://www.theonion.com/ . They do what you do, (but check out their layouts... You might wanna adapt some of yours to a similar format.)
Also, its the nature of the internet beast these days, to be graphic intensive... ( Just saturate your page with more graphics/links.).

If yo get enough good writers on your team, who are consistent (daily) , you guys could stand to make a boatload of money in ads on your page..
Any hoot, good luck...

I've read the Onion occasionally. They are huge, practically a real news agency. I get the concept of having a website be splashy visually. The graphics, pics, videos, etc. are what draws attention. It's obviously nice to monetize a website. Lots of ads would be a goal for SOME websites. We're looking at a little different angle than the Onion. We've formulated a different method. I beiieve our philosophy is different. We want the stories to be THE attraction. We want people to log in and come back first and foremost to read the stories (I've written them all so far). I'm one who doesn't like fluff in any media or entertainment. For example, a lot of movies today are more about special effects than real acting, great dialogue. Lady Gaga is more about fluff than great music (IMO). Robin Meade is HOT but I don't watch her show to get my fill of the news. Sure we've got a web building expert waiting in the wings who's going to splash Levitynews up in the future. I hope I never have to put ANY ads on any of the pages with stories. We hope to monetize the site a completely different way, We'll be experimenting with that down the road.
