Well, fat black women at the TSA is certainly not my idea of a good time. but they don't really scare me.

Seattle: 2009... I was there... Officers (of Muslum persuasion), uniformed and working for TSA. That crew carried automatic weapons, and pulled folks out of line, random searches..for no cause. (I heard later that issue got addressed and resolved)

Las Vegas 2011: I was there... White, (of Secular Persuasion) uniformed, working for TSA...They carried handguns, and pulled people out of line, random search for no cause... Nobody filed a complaint on that one...

I agree, Its not Fat Black Women you should ever worry about...

DUI road blocks??? that's what you want ? you want to drive drunk?

DUI roadblocks now also used to ramp up city coffers, issue non-alchohol related tickets, make arrests without real cause... (like when a fella mouths off to the officer for acting like a gestapo) and so on...
If only DUI roadblocks were solely because of a problem with alcohol

I
live Washington DC I've never seen a swat team serve a warrant.

Of course you wont see that in DC... (Especially when there is an upcoming election)

the city with more police forces than any place in the world. we still have a lot of drunks driving around I'll tell you that.
As a student of history I 'm pretty sure I've read more on the Nazi regime than you have, and Stalin and Mussolini and Caesar and Mao and Tojo into the bargain.

I'm quite sure I disagree. I'm also quite sure that a family of four dying because a drunk driver weaved into the wrong lane and hit them when they were doing nothing except coming home from the hospital and obeying traffic laws is a grave injustice.

You needlessly put other peoples' lives at risk, you die, simple. Then, you take the same risk that you would impose on them, is it not so?

I do not understand what you are saying.

your right that would have solved the problem we inherited from the brits in Arabia and Persia.
I do believe a Swiss solution would have been best, being on both sides.
it sure would have been a little sticky when hitler stabilized europe and had time to send some missiles over the mountains and spent some real time securing the gold,
but maybe he would have seen just how we were on his side all along.

Communism certainly would not have been an issue.
Germany and Japan would have seen to that.
you know....
you just might be on to something here.

segregation would not have been an issue, cause we could be pragmatic and built some camps of our own.

this why you people are crazy.
running around thinking america could be Switzerland.

everybody in the f**k world wants to be Switzerland,
but not everyone in the world can rich , white and have 1500 years of financial and insurance experience.
get real

1.) I guess the first thing I should correct is your take on our position concerning World War II. Other than selling, and lend-leasing weapons to the Allies, our position was that we were not getting involved and that was UNTIL the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor.

FDR specifically said that we would not get involved until we had a Congressional majority, and it didn't look like that would happen. Essentially, we were practicing Isolationism until we were attacked. I don't think defending yourself against your enemies or the allies of your enemies constitutes Imperial policy, but I could be wrong.

Secondly, prior to our already being involved in the war due to Pearl Harbor, I have gathered from my readings that the Nazis, at the very least, didn't have a plan to attack us at that time. Whether or not they eventually would have, I don't know.

So, pat America on the back for their tremendous sense of humanity all you want, but we weren't in it to save the Jews.

2.) Your 1,500 years of experience is more like 197, or, less time than America has been a country. The Swiss declared neutrality in 1815, immediately prior to that, or nearly immediately, they were Governed by the French.

Look up the august 1941 Japanese oil embargo, this will lead down one of many interconnecting threads.
it was certainly coercive. anyone one that says FDR was not a progressive and aggressive foreign policy president has never studied any factual material on the man, or even listened to any of his speeches.

I never stated and certainly don't believe we went to war on behalf of the Jews, my point was quite the opposite.

The occupants of Switzerland have been engaging in credit and finance since practically the dark ages, that's pretty well documented, giving much fodder to conspiracy theorist for ages.
I'm sure you have engaged in some of this your self unless I miss my guess.

credit and finance in many circles is by and large attributed to the knights Templar who vacated to Switzerland to escape Phillip of France...
and so on on
you can read many books on the subject
but I would recommend Eugen Weber. Professor of western history UCLA.
The "Western Tradition" series by him is considered an exhaustive work.
even by progressive and liberal thinkers.
PBS has been running it since the 80's

oh,, and someone else here was maintaining the Swiss were neutral, not me. I don't believe they have ever been really neutral. I mean, how could you be neutral in the world?

sounds very radical, not sure I would support that
good luck with that legislation.
I am quite happy to reserve the death penalty for 1st degree murder

I doubt it. I cant wait to see how TSA behaves in Hawaii

2.well i have been in dc for 51 years.
and apparently you have never been here.

Technically , you are correct... I have only been to Baltimore and to Herndon (on numerous business flights...)
However, One does not have to live in DC to wrap their head around the concept of DC's massive corruption on the hill.
If you live there and deny it, then you are part of it....

3.national elections aren't held here anyway. there held in every county in the usa

Rather moot point... When I referred to 'up comeing election', I was really pointing to the general nature of Posturing, by
pretty much every elected official that works there. BTW, I Have worked directly with few of them, and they are not very cool people...They are only for themselves, egomaniacal and all about pimping a show... So my point is this, You wont find a swat team moving on your civil and constitutional rights in the Lions den... (Duh!!) [i]And dont you think for one minute that the DC papers wouldn't ItThis aint rocket science, man... I'm just saying...

Glen - we talking politics and you go on about your band? :D That means you are saner than I thought you were.

Everyone:

Who owns WW2? Not Hitler, not Stalin, Not Churchill or Roosevelt - nope. Woodrow Wilson. That dipshit got us into WW1 - spoiled the stalement that would have precluded WW2 for no reason I can discern. Certainly not in the best interest of the USA.

Hence our late arrive into WW2 - a bit of wise cynicism had come upon us. Removed now by dumbing down schools...WW2? "Oh yeah...Hitler or like, some uncool sh*t went down..."

Been a down hill slide ever since - we live our lives on the edge of that.

Jimmy

I got in an elevator with four suits today who were talking about the primary. They were joking about Libertarians and I asked them if they prefered Romny. They stopped talking for a second and i said, "yeah, Romny - the white Obama..."

They were still laughing when i headed toward the parking lot.
