I know I spoke with you guys about our adding a guitarist at the end of the year.
And about our shaky moments where it seemed we might just fall apart altogether as a band.
Just wanted to report how things have been progressing.
Jax ( the new axe man ) and myself are really beginning to jell as a team and being able to play off each others strengths and weakness.
He has told me that I have been helpful in helping him adopt a new style.
He even told me respected me as a guitar player which really took me back some as a fact I'm just not that good.
He's young ( just turned 21 ) with a good musical back ground. Swapping instrument with our bassist at times allowing Eric to play on his 12 string acoustic.
I have also assumed more of the rhythm aspects of some of our songs. Partly due to the awesome tones I have been getting out of my new ES-339 / VT-16. Enabling us to rescue some of our older tunes from the dusty books.
I'm jazzed. Not only for the positive changes I see working in NKF but also because I've been invited to play as a guest guitarist with Jax, Steve & Eric at some " praise & worship" functions outside NKF.
This is way outside my comfort zone, and pushing me to practice more.
Scary man ... but I like it.
