About 75 yards in the dark. Didn't even roll it. No question it was hit. Three tanks in the field, only needed to shoot one. Never broke loose. I need a .357! Come next summer, during my summer solstice party, I should have one by then.

I believe you will find the .357 does not deliver enough energy to penetrate those tanks at 75 yards either.

I find the proposition questionable even with an 158 grain FMJ.

Honestly I believe it may require a rifle round to do so.
If it does though ... I'd like to hear about it.

And at that the possibility of the escaping gas igniting is damn slim without an external ignition source.

Use a Winchester .44 / 40. If that doesn't work, switch to RPG 7.

It may surprize you but probably as many music "Stars" came out of, or got their start from Columbus as Memphis. Yes, Peter Frampton is English. He Lives as an abiding US citizen in Cincinnatti. If I only still had my .454 Casull. I believe it would tear that tank a new ass from 100 yards with 300 grain. The shotgun did get a glancing blow with a deer slug, didn't do any more than the 9mm. I've shot a truck battery with my .454 from about 25 yards. Blew end to end the top half of the battery off in one shot with none of the upper half's pieces to be found. Now, dead truck batteries are worth $10, so I'm not shooting them. The gas tanks I'm shooting are the old ones you don't get exchanges for, and you can't recycle them in the sheet iron unless they are ruptured. My brother's .22/.250 would do it but I'm not calling him. I don't believe it would explode a spent tank either, but I'm not taking a cutting torch to them to make them recyclable. / The Lord taketh away, then He Giveth...My Bm account expired. Now I can't post pictures of said shot tank... with my old digital camera that has been on the blink since last August. We've tried new batteries to no avail. My wife tried again a coupla' days ago and finished with an act known to the "Fonz", and whacked it. It then instantly responded. I've since been posting for sale items on CL with pictures. One item I'm selling for $350 got 9 responses this evening. To late to call these serious prospects tonight.

I think Columbus is one of the best party-towns in America and Ohio is the home of the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame because they ROCK like nobody's business there.

Detroit and San Fran may be the most influential cities in rock history, but Ohio has to be the best state for live rock overall.

Frampton's drummer is from Dallas and a good friend of mine. If we can ever end up in the same city, I hope to meet Pete someday.

You Know it! The Cars was discovered in a "bar" so to speak, on the OSU campus called the Agora. Many many others as well at that venue and others. Ohioans are to music as Pittsburgh is to Stealers. I've been to concerts in other states. Even the high talented shows in other states don't get the white noise cheering like fading bands get here. Real white noise, I believe , doesn't occur in other states like I've seen it here. Columbus is also renowned for being the perfect test market for fast food chains. If a burger joint can make it here first, you'll see them everywhere (Wendy's) for example. If it goes belly up here, investors divest. They don't know what it is about our sense of success. If they figure it out, it will be bottled and sold at an outlet near you.

I have a good chance getting hired delivering trucks in Dallas/ Austin areas from Ohio. Once delivered I can explore these areas at my discretion. If so I may look to hook up with Yal!

if you're coming to Dallas in the first week of March, I might be there. If so, I'll be glad to take you to the coolest blues jams you've ever seen. That's one thing TEXAS has over every other state, imo.

Joe isn't even from Ohio but he lived in Columbus as a kid and eventually attended Kent State. I know he played in a band during those years but I don't think it was the James Gang. Use to play at a club by the campus called "Filthy McNasty's" I remember playing there and seeing his photos.
He has been claimed by Clevelanders and Ohioans in general because of his love for the area and the years he lived in Columbus and Kent.
Chrissie Hynde from Akron also went to Kent State but the band formed in the UK she was on campus when the shootings took place in 70. Some of the members of Devo went to Kent also.
Trent Reznor NIN stayed in Cleveland during the early years of the creation of NIN and played some local shows but he is from Penn., Marilyn Manson Canton kid but he formed his band in Florida. I believe Frampton married a woman from Ohio and that was how he wound in Cincinnati.
