this is indeed a boon! the Europeans have crushed themselves in debt and come crawling to us to lend them gold to continue the fight over the trade routs across the globe.
the war department has seen a great weakness in both Germany and the UK and agrees to fight on behalf of the Brits knowing of course this will bankrupt them leaving us in charge of the high seas. a terrible gamble but one that pays off most handsomely.
