Those Zoom drum machines are kinda funky sound wise. Ive got a Boss unit DR Rythym that I use. Most of the time I set up a click track(Ihave to laugh cause I still get wide at times) and then play the drums manually after doing the guitar and bass tracks. I use a combination of amps (Mesa,Sunn), my recorder has amp simulators, and I also have a few little direct boxes. That harmony lead you heard is live amp, that was a Mesa Dual Rectifier and a Laney cab. There are 5 guitars tracks on that lead all panned to different areas of the sonic field. I think 3 dominant tracks are Les Paul and the other 2 are a Strat. Ive got a lot of songs with harmony leads but that is one of my favorites. I do all my own vocals on my songs, so thanks for the compliment there.

I would love to get your rythym tracks for the last song you posted and see what I could do vocally and lyrically. I dont know if that is possible or not but it might be cool to do something like that.

I got out this weekend and met some guys in another local cover group and might play some with them. I just need to play more to get my chops back up.

Nice Satriani style. as far as the song ,good song .Does need a change and I do hear vocals with it too.But very good overall song .Keep writing

Sounds like you have a nice assortment of gear.

I will be happy to send you the rhythem track if you like if you want to take a crack at it. I love your vocals JW. I mean love them. Very solid and very original. You have your own identity, and a good one.

Your a good guitar player as well. Totally different style then me and one that I have trouble with. Your a very talented individual. I am always open to collaborating on line by the way.

The song is just me messing around. I didn't approach it with any kind of structure in mind or to actually write a coherent song. I let the drum machine play and played the rhythem, and then went back and solo'd over it. One take on each. Just ideas really.

If anyone is interested I do have an actual song in song format if anyone wants to check it out. It is just guitar and drums but this would be a coherent song.

Ive got a lot of gear but I know nothing about collaborating online. I have an old Roland VS1880 that i use to record with. I dont know how to take a track and import it to my system and then take it back off again. I would like to take a crack at that song. I think it would be cool cause you play in a different style than I do. The first thing on your side of the coin I guess would be to get the guitar stuctured into a song format. Thanks for the vocal compliments. I never have considered myself a singer more of a songwriter. If we could figure out a way to do it, I would like to throw bass and vocals on your song. I have never heard that work of his. Actually I know Steve Morse is great. I have heard some of his work to make that statement but I have probably heard more Steve Vai then Steve Morse.

I thank you for bringing it up because I believe I will make a point to check him out more in depth.
