Hey Gang,
All right now,in the past you guys have heard me put down computer recording and preach about how much better things were in the old days...Im ready to concede and let go of the past and really try to learn what I can to record on a computer...Ive already learned SO much just about digital cable, routers, modems, high speed internet ,which Ill be getting soon..I was clueless about all this stuff only a week ago.All I wanna do is simply record guitar ( need software having some distortion parameters cause I dont have an amp), a synth/seq (SQ1),bass (which Ill be micing the amp),and vocals /acoustic gtr (with a condenser mic)...I dont need drum machines or midi clocks, just a simple multi tracker with some digital effects and EQ parameters...SO , I appeal to you guys who were previously old analog recording school guys to please advice me of any software that would be easy to understand for a guy who is basically computer illiterate (who is tryin to catch up)...Im gonna try to use my 8 CH brain to HiZ and XLR input mics and instruments and come out of the main signal buss OR REC OUT (RCA jacks)...Gonna try to use my old cassette multitracker brain to input from the computer, final EQ ,then to the studio monitors.Just to get started....ANYWAY, Ive been told that audacity is hard to understand...One of my students is bringing Guitar Pro over next TUE for me to see...He says its a multi tracker????...Like I say gang, Im very much a newbie and would appreciate any help I can get locating some easy software to use...just something comparable to the simple hard disk recorders out today....
thanks,
John
