Cool pics Jw looks like FUN! 8)

I didn't mean to start the whole debate of originals vs. covers. In that other thread I was trying to be realistic. When I was in my 30's I was in a band that had the belief we were going to make it. We had a local record deal recorded an album and played regularly. After years of trying to make it the band got discouraged and broke up. We had put a lot of our own money into the project as well. I enjoyed those days. Playing originals the most money you can make on average is $50.00 a night. Like JW I am playing music on my own terms now. I just feel like that was time wasted in my life. There was so little money involved I even lost a wife over it. She just got tired of being so poor! Originals are great if you keep the whole thing in perspective. In other words don't live life in a false reality (we're gonna make it dude). The truth is there are a million other bands out there trying to do the same thing you are and your chances of winning the lottery are probably better! I have lots of my own music. Someday I will get around to recording it. For now it is not at the top of my priority list. For the most part I don't regret doing the original thing as I learned a lot about the music business.

I wasn't trying to discourage anyone just be realistic about it!

Just TOO FUNNY.

JW I think one of the most important aspect that I have come to appreciate about these garage band guys is the fact that they are all stable hardworking people. They have been friends for 20 years and still playing together for FUN. In some ways I feel kind of honored that they want me in their little clique.

From that point of view I have to bow and give you guys all the kudos around. I would probably have such a great time jamming with you guys,,,, you would have to take me out and shoot me. :)

Yea Glen it would be great if we could all get together on a rainy afternoon with a cool room set up to play in.

On that note, I have tryed to get a few guys together to do just that hang out and jam on some original ideas but heck I cant even get 4-5 people together to do that.

Ive got a band of guys Ive played off and on again with for close to 30 years and cant hardle ever get them together and when we do it just turns into a rap session most of the time, 2-3 hours of BSing about things weve done, and an hour of playing.

Haley on a side note, you are smoking man, I need some lessons!!!!

Sorry Jeff. I forgot how great your music is. I just illegally downloaded them to put in my Itunes player. I'll send you a check for 4 bucks. Really great music. :)

Yea Lynard I guess it is.

SCORE I found another Whammy Pedal on Ebay like the one that went out on me this past weekend.

I use a Whammy II, which is black and has two presets, plus shuttle foot switches instead of the dial on the newer ones, its great for live.

My two presets are a 5th harmony and a dive bomb, then I can kick it out for a couple of other settings I use.

Im suddenly getting the jones for a Phase 90 pedal, been listening and digging the first Van Halen album again. We played Feel Your Love Tonight friday and think I want to do Little Dreamer, we worked Feel Your Love Tonight up in the truck on the way to the gig, man its just too easy sometimes.
