Christ NEVER shoves it down anybody's throat. But there are a lot of Bible-thumping, self righteous sinners, who would.

If I was Christ, I'd fire those guys for grossly mis-representing me and my my program...

But, to answer the question, I was introduced to Christ by my Grandma. She had a very kind and sensible approach toward instilling such advanced concepts into the mind of a 12 year old... It stuck with me , (Positive-like) and my awareness, love, grew from there. I think it was because of the love, that I am not in prison today, for heinous crimes against humanity...

CS Lewis a heretic? I went to that site and can only say 'baloney.' To say that Lewis did not believe in the substitutionary atonement of Christ is ridiculous.

I've read a dozen of his books (not counting sci fi / fantasy) and I believe he has done more for the Christian faith than anyone since Martin Luther.

His Mere Christianity has helped many a man trapped by 'reason' to come to faith. It spells out pretty clearly how sustitutionary atonement works.
