HELL YEAH!!!!
As you guys know, we had our lead guitarist injured in a serious car accident. He brought a friend into the band, to cover his gigs, but also, he hoped, to be the second lead guitarist we have been missing.
Well, this new guy Mike, had his third practice with us last Sunday, and OMG, it was one of the best practices we have had as a band. Because he sings, he also brings the addition of harmonies into the band, along with his good lead guitar work.
Afterwards, we called each other the next day, and were ALL still on a high from how good it sounded! We all thought the same thing " I would have been proud as hell, if this were a live gig and not a practice!"
So we're definitely pumped up about the future. Good practices ROCK! The trick is the repetition that hopefully makes each gig ALWAYS sound that good!
btw...
A little update: Our injured lead guitarist called me yesterday and said that he had played guitar at home for about two hours. He might be limbered up enough to play the Battle of The Bands we are booked for at Vinyl in Atlanta on Dec. 6th
He's been coming to every practice and just helping the band out with his ears and suggestions, and working on a little back-up vocals, but I think the many prayers have helped get him ready to play, not to mention, the excrutiating nature of hearing the band he loves, rockin' out, and he wants to be there setting it all more on fire, than it already is! LOL
Hmm.... I wonder if he lied about the doctor saying he could take that sling off, and start playing some guitar! LMAO!!!
