I'm going to check out the Express series,
thanks, I need that plug n' play capability.

I haven't concentrated on my sound so much,
as I have the mix of the sound of the band
(I use that term loosely). We had 4 guitar players
and a bass and a piano a couple weeks ago, and
it got loud in a hurry, besides my own personal
sound it's the major problem I have with this group.
Volume level, the drummer starts it, and the guitar
players follow, then you can't hear anybody sing
very well, and I'm guilty I've been videoing
every practice, and see myself on the videos
turning around to turn my amp up. It was so
loud that day with 4 guitarists my ears hurt
afterwards. Were gonna rock today and I'm going
to try to hold down the volume level.

I understand it all, but I'm trying.

Lynard one rule of thumb in setting up sound, is to make sure you can fully understand and hear the vocals. Plus a singer shouldnt have to be screaming his guts out to try to be heard.

My band is pretty loud by most peoples standards. The bassist and I try to get a good sound level in conjunction with our drummer, who is a rock drummer. But the last few years my ears hardle ever ring anymore, maybe they are just shot! LOL

If your drummer is agreeable, then he migh muffle down his drums, you can take an old drum head and cut out the center, into a donnut, and lay it over the drums and it will damper it some, of course a little pillow is good in the kick.

4 guitars and a piano, is a bunch of sonic sound to deal with in a room. It takes some discipline to get your sound levels set in this situation.

Have a great jam and play a solo for me! Im working all day, so I wont get to play any til tonight, gotta get the ole callouses back between now and friday!

I know your right JW, I'm hoping by
videoing these jams the guys can see
there to loud, but it hasn't worked so
well yet. The drummer has went all over
the drumheads with little pieces of duct tape
here and there, and a quilt throwed in the
kick. Volume control is a problem we must
constantly work on.

I only had 2 guitar players show uo to jam Sunday,
Some one came by and said the drummer had
been on a bender this weekend, I say what's new
about that. It was an excellent jam tho, one of the
guitar players is a pretty fair drummer, and I played
piano, and we had one guitar. I've only been playing
piano about a year and a half, and it was my first time
playing a couple of sets with a small group, it was good.
I did get one solo in, they started playing that old
rock n' roll riff in E, and I had to jump up and grab
my guitar to give those boys a free lesson.

Come on JW you know those callousses never go away.

semi-retired guy I sure seem to be busy.
