Secession is implied in the construction of a union of states. The union is voluntary.

It's only very recently govt skunks starting calling this THE United States. It was always THESE United States. The treaty of Ghent with England was 13 separate treatys - one for each state.

I don't tell other folks what to do or kick them around because I don't like their conduct. But if I think Govt is doing that to me, it's "Adios sucker."
I feel no moral or political imperative to support or obey a corrupt govt. We hanged rather a lot of Germans and Japanese for doing just that.

The people (in theory) are the bosses in the USA. That has become a joke. But many of us are not laughing.

These Occupiers are correct in saying it's all screwed up. But they are completely out of their minds to call for more govt to fix it. It was govt that broke it!

You must think the US is still a confederacy. It ceased to be one after the Constitutional Convention in 1787. Since then, this has been ONE nation, like how the pledge goes, "one nation indivisible with liberty and justice for all."

Correction: "one nation, UNDER GOD, indivisible with liberty and justice for all."

That was just cold war propaganda added in the 1950's.
We need to go back to the original pledge.

Nope. Cold War had nothing to do with the modification of the pledge,. Lincoln's Gettysburg Address probably did.

The author of the original pledge was a socialist and had designed the pledge for efficiency, and not ideological biases. He also originally stated his pledge to "My flag". That also was modified later to "The flag" in order to reconcile ambiguity about who's flag... I.e Immigrants

Wrong.
The Soviets were the "godless commies." Adding "under God", at the time, was seen as a way to differentiate "us" from " them".
Do not forget that, under the first amendment, it is also unconstitutional for the government to endorse religion.
