No.
We all buy what is available to buy at a reasonable price. Whens the last time you could even buy something for a fair price that was made in this country?
Pretty Much everything that bought Before 1975. I'll add that those things have lasted as long. What's the oldest Item you possess, that was made in China and wasn't tacked to a wall?
Why would you pay $15 an hour for someone to do the job, and not $2 an hour? Because you are an american citizen.
Wrong. Nobody does business or sets prices based on patriotism... Albeit its a cool idea... But the reality is that businesses set prices based on
costs, followed by availability of resources . Thanks to our beloved uncle's tax and tariff laws and , we pay higher operating and production
costs (unnecessarily) than any other nation in the world. As such we go to the rest of the world to reduce our
costs. In Fact, the government engineered it this way to advance US interests in Global Trading.
Even if there wasn't a clusterfuck of government regulation, how many companies would do the loyal thing and manufacture items in this country vs. jump at the chance for $2 an hour labor?
See the aforementioned
"It's too hard and complicated here, I better go overseas so I can make a profit!" <--- Thats a copout.
Profit margins (greed) drives manufacturing overseas as much as anything else.
Actually not quite. Profit margin always reflect better when Revenues increase (Sale of goods & Services) Not when Costs are decreased (I.e slashing quality checks/design standards and labor inputs) . When a company goes overseas, its becuse the natural revenue they could have generated, gets eaten up (Loss of
any Profit margin) and car-jacked by Uncle Sam. I aint makin this up.. Its the current reality... And frankly, I would go overseas (If I weren't such a damn patriot)
Changing the trade laws and the tax laws is the only way to right the manufacturing ship.
Exactly! That's why its tantamount to the voter process to pay attention who the hell we vote in?
Of course all that has nothing to do with banks, but whatever
Think of banks as gamblers betting on race horses... Right now, all the horses are getting farmed... No runners... And banks aint
giving away 'bettin- money'...so basically, the track is closed down for now.
