I liked it overall. A little sedate but decent.
The only things I could complain about would be that I thought it was too fast BPM wise. ( want it slower with more emphasis)
I'd want the bongos to get softer because they seemed loud to me..
And you and your crew didn't get near enough agitated to play this tune.
I would expect if you played this live that you would beat the mfer out of this tune and play it like it was your last time ever to break on though to the other side of this dimension called "Hush".
Personally, I'd say ditch the average recording of this and rerecord it with your talent pool in the wee hours of the morning. Play it till your sick of it.
Then do it one more time and play it like it's completely live. Ad lib it a little, talk to the imaginary crowd a little, build the swell and then play it like a tsunami rolling over what's left of the power station at Fukushima.
Oh look, even Godzilla is coming up from the harbor to get a better seat.
I hope it's loud else he might decide to have Japanese take out that evening!!!!

Hey Scottie , thanks for the critique , I get what your talkin about as far as energy level , weve never really played it live. were sort of experimenting with an idenity for a cover band with a blues base , we remade 18, we have some other ideas & are working on some originals , but we havent really settled on anything yet ( or found a bass player for that matter ). thanks again
Well it's pretty good.
Harsh it up some and you got a winner.

Killer slide! Your version is slower and in a lower key than DP's version, and for this loses some of the energy of the original. The guitars could be a little dirtier too, and I would also like to hear it with the original intro. But overall good job.
Nice Job. I agree with Scott...The Song needs some agitation. I Agree with Jimmy about the Intro...
There were some parts in the vocal, where you went 'Blues-gruff' on the lines...I'm thinking that works better for a roadhouse style of blues, rather than on this song.
Loved the slide work... And of course yo got the chords, notes, progressions, spot-on

thanks guys ,sometimes I dont know exactly how an ideas goin to turn out .I may try again but I'll probably just move on to the next idea. I like the intro as well but I wasnt sure how to pull it off without a b3.
BLues, this is one of my favorite songs, I just love the rythym to it.
Im with Jimmy, the lower key kinda kills the mood.
I love the idea of the slide and the tone, but I wish you would have mimiced the vocal line melody a little more, it kinda sounds like your just winging it instead of thinking it out if that makes sense. Its not bad but I think I would have approached that part a little different.
Overall its a great cover of the song, I imagine live it will come across more lively, I think the tempo was about right for the way you are singing.
Thanks for sharing that, Ive thought about that song a lot over the years and maybe hearing your version will inspire me to get my guys to do a hard rock version.

Also after relistening I would go for a much nastier guitar tone, your guitar sounds real compressed, I would go for a more in your face kinda guitar tone, more Marshally with a tube screamer cranked in front of it, might liven it up a little more.
Theres nothing wrong with any of it, but after listening twice it kinda comes across to me as a lounge lizard song, dont take that as a negative, I know you are more blues based, than I think of things.
If it were me it would come out more AC/DC, so you and I come at songs from a different angle and my singer can do the AC/DC type vocals.
Have a Great Day
