yea hes got it goin on & he looks young to boot ... i think i hate him
Well done J-H!
This new incarnation sounds almost like the original and lack nothing in intensity. I'm not surprused that RMontrose is still hot but this singer is really wired for sound.
The first Montrose album is in the top ten of my all time favorites. Bad Motorscooter!
Saw them live in Atlanta a million years ago. Absolutely grand. My brother barfed on a cop's shoes that night. Not out of malice...

That Montrose Album with Bad Mooter Scooter on it is one of my favorites of all time.
He was so much and influence on hard rock.
I went to the Auditorium North Hall in Memphis TN, I cant remember the year, but the headline act was Montrose, with a band called Journey in the second slot (pre Steve Perry), and an unknown new act at the time called Van Halen!
What a lineup!
This was during Montrose's instrumental era, so the vocals on Journey and Van Halen just sucked sound wise, but the damn guitars was a crankin that night.
The drummer I play with now, we at one time played in a band that played almost every song off of the Montrose album.
Thanks JH I may have to brush off a few of those old motrose songs for our next gig..........
"I remember I was 17"
"Daddy said boy, pick your game"
"Said life aint easy as it seems"
"When you get older you'll see what I mean"
thats just off the top of my head, man that brings back some memories, sadly the singer in my band hates Sammy Hagar, so I dont know if I can get some Aint Yo Mama versions of those songs or not! Im gonna have to try thou! LOL

That first Montrose album was a staple when I was a youngster, I think I've played every tune on it at one point. Sammy was awesome back then too.
Man the guitar sound on that album was awesome, I mean that was recorded in like 71-72 wasnt it, I think it was a little bit ahead of its time.
Yea Sammy goes way back, in fact I saw something where he has been on more gold records with different bands than anyone else, plus he got rich off of tequilla, not bad not bad at all.
Jimmy that Chicken Foot stuff is awesome also.
But back to Montrose he just had a defining hard rock guitar sound in my mind, just nice thick and juicy!
When I saw him he was using LAB amps, I guess the old stuff was Marshall and LP all the way.

Didn't check the videos, can't get on youtube here. Will take a look later from a different spot...
Montrose started off as Edgar Winter's guitar player, on They Only Come Out At Night, I saw pictures of him back then with a Gibson SG. Killer guitar player. Rick Derringer played on one or two songs, Frankenstein I think, and Undercover man. The rest was all Montrose. First time I heard Rock Candy and Bad Motor Scooter I was really impressed, and didn't know it was the same guy who had played for Edgar Winter at the time.
Sammy Hagar wrote Bad Motor Scooter, according to an interview I read a while back it was the first song he ever wrote. It has also been one of my favorite songs for ages. Hagar has also been one of my favorite singers and songwriters for a long time, alongside Edgar Winter, Tom Petty, Ian Anderson, John Hiatt and Paul McCartney.

Sammy Hagar should have stayed with Montrose.
"Van Hagar" didn't cut it.
Chickenfoot is just a bunch of sh*t.
