News Flash!!!!

It is our Government that has created this disparity. Over the last hundred years, the rules and regs that have allowed the creation of wealth have become so overwhelming that Steve Jobs and Bill Gates may be the last Americans that were not so fettered by Government screwups,,, that they had the American opportunity.

Mike, if it takes total chaos to change the system, then so be it. Communism continues to fail just like Greece because it does not allow the individual to rise to their full potential. THIS WILL BE GOVERNMENT JOB, AND YOU WILL DO IT OR BE REMOVED FROM SOCIETY. Sounds like a colony of ants.

Instead of just tearing down the wealthy, our government must be reshaped to applaud the creative, that claw their way through all BULLSHIT to succeed.

Mike, you have really good internet talent, some of the things you pull off are amazing to me, and simple for you. I just hope our gov doesn't shut you down because you are talented!

I have no interest in "tearing down the wealthy." Tear down ALL OF IT. End the Fed! Abolish money altogether. Money is meaningless. f**k capitalism! f**k communism! Gimme something that works! And I mean works for everyone, not just a lot of people...everyone. Poverty will only die when extreme wealth dies with it.

Mike Your thinking is either that of someone with no alternative or someone kicking everyone to think outside the box. Looking 2 hundred years ahead,,
If it is the last one it opens some very interesting thoughts. How do you reward the talented contributing to the greatness of a society, without burdening them with the weak? What about the average individual?
Obviously, thinking outside the box, the idea is that all men are created equal, and that they should all remain that way. This will lead to a great society.
A society were innovation can only be punished. A truly dead society.

But you pose some interesting thoughts if you wipe out everything. Be very careful with that, I might undeservingly wind up KING. :)

"I think technology will save us. And I think our own goodness will save us, basic human decency."..."Money is a terrible thing. Why do people work at jobs in Star Trek? Why does someone become a baker? Because the family is going to starve to death? No. People become bakers because certain people love the smell of things baking and certain people take pride--we all have a little pride--in something. A convergence WILL happen, hopefully combining the best elements of capitalism and socialism. I believe that freedom of religion, capitalism and socialism MUST exist side by side in harmony and balance. I believe all people must be able to worship (or not) as they see fit, pursue their entreprenurial nature (or not) as they see fit. I believe we must have just enough government programs to help those who cannot help themselves, protect our nation, and provide a cushbion when times get tough.

Bob The emergence already happened , beginning in the 1970's. That means there is an awful lot of evidence now, which suggests that Socialism doesn't work. The problem with socialism, is that Its intended to be a goodwill program, dictated by the state. It does not ever allow us to use our own discretion of generosity to help the poor. Instead, it forces us to help the poor whether we like it or not... even if those poor people got themselves into poordom by f**cking off all their lives, while the rest of us busted our asses. NOTE. I'm not talking about truly afflicted people who cannot help themselves... I'm talking about the couple of million selfish, worthless but healthy assholes who take and never give back. Their numbers are growing...COnversely, Work ethic is diminishing... Coincidence? I don't think so!

Here are some reasons why I resent being told to help the poor.

1) Under socialism, the poor get poorer... And I'm forced to give even morer.
2)Under socialism, Whats yours is yours, and whats mine is yours...
3) Under socialism, your song for charity goes for alll the charities you disagree with. You and your family will be the least to benefit
4) Under socialism, Greed emerges dis-proportionally, as an offset for lack of due rewards.
5) Under socialism, innovation is asphyxiated, smothered, buried, beaten , quelled and hidden from everyone except the wealthy (who control Socialism)

I could go on... My point is... I am more likely to give you the shirt off my back, when I am free to exercise my spirit of goodwill and generosity, by my own volition. If the government takes it away from me, I 'm gonna set their buildings on fire , ignite a lot of bombs, and do it all from an enemy state of my Country.

If this surprises you, consider the fact that we did this exactly like I described... when we fought to the death to obtain and preserve our freedom from the Common wealth (Another name for socialism) of The King Of England. We got pissed -mad then...and I have a feeling well do another round if we have too.
I will NEVER buy into socialism on government scale. Successful Socialism is something you practice with family, on a camping trip... Not on a country.

You don't know what the Hell you are talking about.
How about instead of being forced to finance Wall Street bailouts and a gargantuan war machine we help real people.
The tax burden for social programs is a pittance compared to corporate welfare.
Anyway, I'm just waiting for the whole house of cards to collapse anyway.
One "evil empire" down, one more to go.

Actually, I do know what the hell I'm talking about. What I don't know... is what the hell you are talking about... I was talking about socialism, in response to Mr Bobs posting. YOU are talking about taxes and what not. Two separate issues, are they not?

How about instead of being forced to finance Wall Street bailouts and a gargantuan war machine we help real people.

Which real people , exactly, did you have in mind?

The tax burden for social programs is a pittance compared to corporate welfare.

Wrong! The tax burden on Poor people for social programs is a pittance. (I'm guessing here, you aint tasted success and wealth yet.) The burden on middle class is astronomical...so bad that were gonna lose that middle class and then all the poor people will be wiping their asses with the wrappers that come with the free government cheese they get.

Anyway, I'm just waiting for the whole house of cards to collapse anyway.
One "evil empire" down, one more to go.

Hey, I don't like funding bail outs anymore than you do... I don't like funding the war anymore than you do...except to say, that we are in a war whether we like it or not. As a former member of one of the worlds largest gangs (AKA The US Navy), I learned a life saving lesson...No matter how F**cking wrong your buddy is...No matter how big of a cock-sucking dickhead he behaves like... during the heat of a battle or in the company of life threatening people, you NEVER, EVER, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE, dress him down in front of those people... Instead You cover/protect, defend his ass to the death... But, After the dust settles, then you take him privately somewhere and you beat the sh*t out of him to teach him a lesson...
Well, there are some Americans, who don't get that... SO they Protest, desecrate and deface our troops (All in the name of being cool and individually outspoken), not realizing the damage they cause, and how they compromise the morale of our troops.

Having said that, I su[pport thsi evil empire until the troops get safely home... .

Here's a novel Idea...instead of us giving you 'something that works'...How about you just go out there and MAKE IT HAPPEN... ?

Dog, if you believe that some capitalist utopia is out there where taxes are nonexistant. Please go there. Stay there, for a long long time.
I am really annoyed at the mad teabaggers who think that all taxation is unjustified and that civilization can exist without any government whatsoever.
It can't.
While I've got my own beef with politicians and badly managed public services. I am at least aware enough to know not to let the perfect be the enemy of the good. At least some bit of democracy is still left in America, no matter what the numbnuts try to sabotage it for political or financial gain.

Yeah, I am sure when the Soviet Union was around ONE GUY brought it down.
Ronald Reagan said, "Tear down this wall." and "Abracadabra", the Soviet Union was no more. Right.
The USSR collapsed because it was already rotting from within, just like the USA is now.
Eventually, there will be a tipping point.
The national credit card will be declined.
Roosevelt saved capitalism from itself once.
But, neoconservatives don't seem to have learned a damned thing from the Great Depression.

MIke, I don't think you realize that I actually "dont disagree" about the tax and Government Thing. (Of Course, I have no clue what you mean about the perfect being the enemy of the good...)
But I know this: I had no problem paying my FAIR SHARE of taxes. I have a huge problem paying an EXTRAORDINARY HUGE SHARE of taxes to cover the for the mistakes that some ASSHOLE, OTHER THAN ME, committed. That is generally the same sentiment that the Tea Partiers hold. Actually I don't blame them at all for being piss-raging angry.
