See why we don't think alike. You keep sucking up to some corp, but at least they give someone like you a job. Put them out of biz, that means you also, and all that lost tax revenue they keep saying you and I don't pay.HA HA HA. NOT FUNNY.

Good luck Dog, still hate that avatar.

Re AVATAR..Changed it days ago The server aint caught up yet... See the new one in my profile, not here...

The diff between you and I is that I can still work independently, OR I can work with a team as an employee for a Corp. Either way I'm not worried about income. If you wanna call that "sucking up", That don't really bother me... (One Hundred, Two hundred.... One Thousand...Thank you Paperdog for trusting us as your personal banker..and do have a nice trip to Rio... :D

Well bright boy, go do it for your self.

YOU CAN'T. Thats the sad part.

(by the way you really don't)

Actually I have indeed saved the company millions in penalties (Gov Compliance) After I came in and cleaned up their sh*t. So Yeah In a way I'm worth millions to them..

Notice the big difference in words here,,,SAVED, and EARNED.
Actually if you can save a business millions in government penalties then you already have your own business set up and in place. Thank god for BIG GOVERNMENT. Now you have just have to go out and reap the rewards. GO FOR IT Dog. DO IT!!!!!

Glen... I owe you an apology... I realize in my previous posts, (one in particular) I came off a bit caustic... and I realize, that was just plain un-necessary and unfair to you... I was in one of my Bustin-Chops moods... Please forgive me...

Now I honestly do not think we are completely in disagreement about the fundamental issue about profit caps. I share the boot strap ethics that you hold... Make no mistake. I am not 'unhappy" with my job... If It appeared as though It was, it was not the intention. I carry my weight and then some, on the work i do... I earn every penny of what I have. The work has paid off.

My chief complaint about many (Not all) Corp Execs, is that I personally know many, who patently and out right confess it...They don't give a sheeeeeit about the employees... To that end..they engineer and sabotage the efforts of many boot-strappers, in order to get a bigger slice of the pie for themselves.

I am a strong advocate of keeping my crew happy. The way I see it... They can topple me anytime they decide... So I'ts in my interest to treat them with dignity and fairness...

One way to do that, is to actually show earnest appreciation of them through things like office parties , Picnics and other events (Paid in full by the boss) .

More critical ways include taking an earnest interest in their professional development.. If I have a budget, I look to see ...can I match funds on say...education, or certifications etc...? Proof of giving a sh*t about their growth is to also reward them for their accomplishments afterward, with things things like raises/promotions, bonuses...new sets of responsibilities, more authority ... etc.

Now , we cant always do the ideal.. But even the spirit of intention invokes more positive response from that work force...

Is always assumed that the crew understands they must work hard and reliably... Its also understood that sub par efforts are highly frowned upon...
But when a guy starts from the ghetto, and works his way up hard & honest to viable position with income..,,, and he gets impeded by the sabotage, caused by the execs, I have a real problem with that...

Let me give you a recent example: Our bonuses are based on performance. Plain and simple. You work hard to "exceed" what's expected of you , you get the bonus...Its a no brainer, right? Well, what if you get a manager, who re-writes your role and title such that the expectations of role/title are open ended? So, instead of defining it by a benchmark , i.e. "to meet expectations you must secure a minimum of 10 widgets" they say instead, "To meet expectations you must secure a lot of widgets..."

Now...suppose you go and secure 50 widgets? Come Bonus time, they say..."Well thats good that you secured 50 widgets...That's a lot of widgets... so you met expectations... But you did not exceed expectations. ...SO, no bonus for you...have a nice day...

You see where I'm going with this...? How's a hard working, honest fella , supposed to compete against something like that?

SO yeah, the answer is maybe to quit... But that's a tough sell to the timid folks who cant fend for themselves any other way (and there are a lot like that)

"Greed" can also be envying someone else for having stuff.

in other words, you don't necessarily need a lot of possessions to be driven by greed. All you need is envy. Lots of that parading down Wall St today.

I agree with Herman Cain that they need to be marching on Washington if they're concerned about greed or Wall St.

I thought that was just called 'envy' ;). I will say that envy drives greed ...

I am not clear what that protest is really about... I men there does not seem to be any specific plan/goal being executed other than getting the day off from Job hunting...or work

Yeah thats right! Warren Buffet, ( the successful investor) should pay that much more. He made 58.6 million personal dollars last year. We should just void the constitution and take his property away from him. It works in China, Cuba, and worldwide in general, Right! well that would be nice except our government is spending and wasting money faster than even the super wealthiest could ever keep up with. Even if they gave all.
SOLYNDRA a solar co Filed for bankruptcy after receiving 532 million in GOV assistance. That means it would take almost 10 Buffets donating all to cover that little oops. O.K. SUN VALLEY SOLAR is a publicly traded corp. Last year they were a 100 dollar stock, last look, 5 dollars. O.K. thats capitalism, But this time it seems your hard earned tax dollars went to this company to the tune of 1.2 BILLION dollars. This hasn't even come out yet. That means we need another 240 top earners like Buffet to surrender their money to pay for that OOOOPS. This is just 2 billion in waste and mistakes. 14 TRILLION, I don't think so. That number is getting higher by the minute. If our government out right confiscated all the capital wealth of all the wealthy and all the corporations, AND everyone in America, it would only be a temporary fix. NOW THAT WOULD BE FUNNY MIKE.

I've been following the labor issues with Apple and China for a few months now. Really crazy stuff goes on in what I could call labor camps overseas.
