Considering the way men have f**k up this world, I think it only fair to hand the reigns over to the women folk. How can they do worse?

Women fair no better, remember a woman in the UK called Maggie. She was given a bit of power and started using it by taking all the milk away from the schools so that the tradition of schoolchildren having a free small bottle of milk each day at school was stopped.
Thus entering a destructive mode to match any male of the species, destroying the mining industry, and many other positive aspects of the country she was supposedly running.
Amongst all this destruction she did create a few things,....mass unemployment for example. Also because there was no longer any jobs
there was no such thing as an apprenticeship for the young, so clever Mags invented the Y.T.S the youth training scheme. This involved a year getting very cheap labour from a youngster whilst teaching them all about the job they were going to be out of.
Could go on all day but the point is male or female makes no difference anymore, tis the species as a whole that is flawed.

LOL That's how I felt when I heard about Hillary.

I spoke to a local woman who said, "If Hillary gets in office, we will all feel it. Take it from a woman who knows women". (ouch)

I knew then that it would be what we call a "short shift" if she gets elected.

Invalid example. Maggie Thatcher was actually Ronald Reagan in drag.

I been playing in church for over 15 years now and love it, it give me something to do while not do other gigs. I also play for two Gospel Bands and I get to meet other players and singers that love the Lord too. The only thing I don't like it that it's hard to find musicans that is committed. They come and go so fast. If you guys live in the Queens area in New York and looking for work playing Gospel music please contact me.Need Keybd and guitar players. Bass4worship

I played a few occassions at the local cathedral for a mass, but stopped when once the priest threw some Holy Water on me and its stung like acid.

Lmao! Okay, that could cause a problem. That reminds me of the movie the "Devil's Advocate" and Al Pacino stuck his finger in holy water and it began boiling and all of these bad things started happening. Creepy film.

I have a friend who plays in a church band every Sunday, he is a pianist.

I probably would not play in a church, I could (If asked), but being that that is not my religion, it just would not fit. Plus I do not know any songs that would fit there, it would be very sacrilegious to play heavy metal in a church, lol. So yeah.

Peace out guys, GuitarAnatomy. (Note, I mean no offense to anyone in anything I said, so if it comes off that way I apologize)

I mentioned BandMix, but the next week they said that there wasn't much in the way of Christian musicians. Are there any faith based musicians here?

Yes, I am a believer as well.

ShoutLife.com is a great site to check out as well.

PEACE!

Hey Thom, thanks for the ShoutLife.com link. Looks cool, I'll probably put a profile of my band up there.

Peace,

I was wondering if Christian bands played in the usual venues where alcohol is served? If not, do churches accept musicians that do? I have to make a living, which means playing all over the place, but I have no problem playing at a church.

As an aspiring indie Christian artist I, of course, got my start playing P&W in my church youth group. As i began to branch out and discover the wide array of Christian music, i found that the question you have to answer is what makes the music Christian. If you choose to answer with "the message" then does the word God or Jesus have to be present? many mainstream rock songs are about relationships and they can easily be applied to my relationship with Christ. so i don't think that the message defines Christian music. it cannot be the sound, Christian music has merged quite well with adult contemporary and rock alternative genres so much so that tooth and nail records has landed many super-successful Christian-"crossover" bands. so if it isn't the message and it isn't the sound, could it be the members? well, yes and no. no one can stand up and live a perfect life as an example for all of mankind except for Jesus. what i am getting at is that Christian music is Christian because of the inspiration. When you write a Christian song it is not about your vanities, it is about you glorifying God with your "God-gifted" talents. Some songs will be dark about bad things in your life, some will be happy and make you want to dance, you might voice your anger at God for what has happened to you; but in the end you are doing what you were created for and because it is all based on Christ, someone else will hear your song and it will minister to them in whatever situation they are going through.

Personally, i and the bands i have played with approach music as a ministry opportunity, however, we rarely play worship sessions. We were a kind of street ministry, we played for church groups and rocked out for Christ but we also played mainstream venues and clubs, bars and pubs. why would a church shun us if all we really are are urban missionaries?

I have a two word phrase that defines my mission as a Christian Musician. American Axiom.. (great band name by the way) an axiom is basically a self evident truth.. American axiom would be the self evident truth about America. which is that we need Christ more than ever, you can hear it on the radio, in the movies, the theatres, even in artwork. the world is crying out for a SAVIOR... so let's use our talents to creatively reach the "world" one ear at a time.
