I hear there are those whom just write stuff.
You know, throw some lyrics together without there being any real motivation or meanings.

That would be impossible for me.
My mind just does not seem to work like that.

How bout "Hey Nineteen" Such a great groove!

Hey Nineteen that's 'Retha Franklin
She don't remember the Queen of Soul
It's hard times befallen the sole survivors
She thinks I'm crazy I'm just growing old

The Cuervo Gold
The fine Columbian
Make tonight a wonderful thing

Hey I'm not promoting the use of illegal substances it's just a song

Thanks for that 8) Almost like the teacher from the Peanuts cartoons got in a few licks.

I always thought they had the most unique approach on guitar. Still do. Not a whole lot of cover bands mess with the depth of their sound.

I thought the same thing Jahva the Teacher on Charlie Brown cartoons!
they are so Jazzy their music is over some folks heads (they don't understand it) They are just on a different level of consciousness IMHO!

The last time Steely Dan toured they came here to Houston and one of the Whippersnapper reporters for the Houston Comical wrote a review of the show and said it was the most boring concert they had ever been to. I thought you little wet behind the ears kiddo you don't know squat about music and the little close minded 2 chord song loving idiot is writing reveiws about music? LMAO! Sorry for the rant and negativity! I feel better now! :D

Oh Yeah! Thanks for posting that Jahva! I have enjoyed that song since it first came out but I have never seen that video! I was playing in a club back in 87 right down the street from Gilley's and Chicago's Trumpet player Lee Loughnane came in and watched the entire night! We were a Hairband but I could tell how into music he is. I spoke briefly with him if memory serves me right he had family in Beaumont he was going to see. 8)
