F'n A right Bob.
Just down right disrespectful.
When I worked management one NCNS and you were kicking cans down the road.
More than once I met someone at the time clock the next morning to tell them not to bother clocking in.

Having issues are we ?

People have no idea what I have to do to even get my butt out the door. I have to mollify a 280lb gorilla. Then I have to haul beaucoup HEAVY equipment up a narrow flight of stairs, then load it in a small car, etc. AND I could have went fishing today, what a perfect day to waste time waiting for a no-show idiot. Maybe he has a good excuse but they never do...I did audition another guitarist for The Bluefin Tuna Band earlier in the day. That went VERY well surprisingly. One out of two ain't bad. I guess I have to count my 50% blessings...

100% blessing considering you don't have to weed out the bad apple - seems to have weeded himself out for you. 8)

Short of being in an ICU and intubated or dead ... hard to imagine a good excuse for at least a courtesy call.

Focus on the positive.

I been stressing over my eldest daughter still being hospitalized since before dawn of last Friday.

No acute findings ... in fact ... no freaking findings.

The good side is we may have our first guitarist audition Wednesday night.

Good vibes on this one ... we will see.

George, I'm praying for your daughter. I didn't know she was hospitalized?! Guess I've been away from Facebook too long.

In His Grip,
Chris

Bob, I agree completely with you. We had a band practice sunday and discussed this, we had a former member who thought we should just do whatever it took to get him to practices, amps, guitars, chords, guitar strings. This person was a very close friend to all of us at one time or another, but in the end is nothing more than a bum. This goes way back for me, not one of the current members, but our singer thought at one time I was the problem. I said if this guy hadnt been so close to you and had been anyone else you know i would have canned him from the jump.

I recently did a sit in gig with this friend, after the gig I had to buy him dinner and take him home. Since then he moved and had a rental car, he had the nerve to call me out of the blue and ask me to go get a check from his ex and go pay for his rental car, LOL.

OK rant over!

George I hope your daughter gets better.

A no-show is as good as an audition. You're finding out up front what this person is like. On the other hand, once the band is established you have to cut people some slack; things do happen and missing practice is unavoidable sometimes. But we all have phones; if you can't call you don't give a sh*t.

I'm fully in agreement here Jimmy.
It's about having respect for your band mates and the project.
If you have no respect for the project ... why bother ?

Thanks Mary.

She is home and doing much better. They never discerned the etiology of her pain.

They damn sure run up the bill though.

I guess it comes down to the work ethic of the individual. I cannot wrap my head around the idea of not sharing status and keeping informed about a going concern.

I'm pretty sure that a musician, who cant call in... and who also pulls a no-show, is essentially a spineless, no-count, worthless person to begin with. The dude probably bails on his women, children and probably has a boat load of bill collectors on his ass...

But then again, I could be wrong.

Yeah, I'm sure "We have no idea what's wrong with her, okay. She could prabably use more cowbell, however... Oh by the way, that will be $25,000.00 and some change."
