I appreciate your opinion, I listened to your music today. Very eclectic.
I'm suprised Lennon wasn't listed in your influences. It's there. 8)
Let me know when you post some new stuff.

Judy Garland was another tragic end but she did make it into her 40's.

Same song played by the same orchestra.

Hmmm . . . not to sound cold or anything, but really, did you personally know her? Hundreds of people died that day, are you filled with sorrow for all of them too?

hey, you might be a cold-hearted bastard who doesn't care when people die...but I'm a father and any kid who dies needlessly is sad to me. Yes, even those other "hundres of people who died that day".

She was a talented artist and a young lady who could've lived many more years had she not destroyed herself. I found her to be a breath of fresh soul music in a quantized world. She brought the best of the 60s back for people like Adele to come walking through...

Not that it's all I'd listen to but I respected her as an artist and pity her as a person.

You don't have to.

Of course I don't. I am a father of two myself, and though I did mention my sorrow for anyone that perishes at an early age, I have little sympathy for a drug addict that actually had a career.

Aren't we all aware that IT is a matter of being in the right place at the right time when it comes to contemporary success?

Someone like Whinehouse is a loser where as someone like Keith Richards is a winner.

It's also a matter of being capable and willing when that opportunity comes along, but I agree with you to a certain point.

Don't suppose you ever saw the VH1 documentary on Janis Joplin? I come from the part of Texas where she grew up. They were just brutal to her, voting her "ugliest boy on campus" in Port Arthur TX. When she finally had become one of the biggest stars in the world, she came back to Port Arthur to rub their noses in it....but no one in Port Arthur noticed or cared. Janis looked visibly upset in the documentary and one month later, she overdosed and died.

Really sad story for the woman by which all great female singers are judged for talent ever since..

That's a pretty powerful rendition of a great tune.

Nice, but I've played in 3rd rate jass ensembles where the female vocalist was way more expressive and had greater technique, I remain completely unconvinced about this so-called artist.

Zip...where to begin...
Well, lets start with the fact that she took three genres (R& B, Soul And Jazz) and made an awesome mixture for commercial public consumption that no other artist has quite successfully pulled off in the 21st century. She turned uzo into Starbucks & honey, She put Fish & Chips under glass, and she shoved a lot of moxie square up the asses of a lot corn-bread wannabes with her fabulously gifted voice , replete with her Black on White, White on Indie texture and intonation , In short, her singing skills, along with her mastery and command of themes makes her unparalleled in her rank & class since the voices of Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington and especially that of Eartha Kitt. She did this all, without ever ripping out one lick of metal... and yet, her fans construed her to be a bit of a tiny goddess...

Oh..did I mention she Grabbed that brass ring as early as 22 years of age... ?

How old are we?

One man's trash is another man's treasure.

(I didn't like her, but plenty of people did so that's great.)

It'd be an awful place if we all HAD to listen to the same crap.
