Hello,

This is kind of simple,

I have a G&K 700RBII head and I'm at a point that I'm going spend the amount of money necessary to buy the best matching cab to use with it and my 700RB has the bi-amp option which I'd really like to use.

Can anyone suggest " In your own opinion" what G&K speaker cab would be a best matched with this head to be used in bi-amp mode?
and of course Why?

Options:
- Neo 2x12 cab has the speakon option & a horn for the highs. $549.00-ish
- Neo 4x10 cab also says it will bi-amp, has speakon etc and with 10" speakers should have tighter bass, maybe not as clear sounding lows? also the Neo-4x10 is matched with that fusion amp...
- RBH 4x10 /4 cab is also will work but its a 800 w cab $899.00 - this is a dream cab but maybe too much for the amp?.?.?
- The MBE series takes speakon inputs but says nothing about a horn or biamp
- The MBX series says it has a horn and speakon butsays nothing about bi-amp option.

It would be nice to talk to someone at G&K, the people in the music store don't always know squat, they just sell.....
I don't care about sales, I want the right amp/cab combo.

I rendered a decision by reading articles, what I was able to play at the local music store and decided on two of the G&K Neo112-II cabs.
I'm very happy so far but haven't had a chance to crank them up against a drummer yet. I think I'll like them alot. They seem do be very punchy and able to produce some amazing lows.
I also love the bi-amp system..

I hope to have a first practice with them this coming Monday.
I also just ordered an Ibanez SR405QM 5 string bass guitar, it should be here Friday...

I finally had a chance to jam with a drummer, actually about 7 times now and suprise, I only need one of the two cabs that I picked up so I'm totally stoked because if I want more, it's there.
I would strongly recommend these to anyone, looking for a small rig and they are stackable too so suddenly they are a 2x12 stack.
my daily driver is a 2000 Corvette FRC, its the ZO6 body and believe it or not, I can fit the speaker, bass, head, road case & stand in the car. can you imagine a full bass rig in a Vette.. because it works...
The funny thing tho- as you all know most volume knobs have a 270* sweep from 7 o-clock-ish to 5 o-clock ish, well, I have yet to turn it up more than 9 o-clock... amazing rig, I love G&K.

GK is nice, but I have to stick with Ampeg. I used GK for awhile, and when i moved over to Ampeg cabinets I liked the tone much much better. SVT Classic and HLF all the way for me.

Your in luck, because I use GK and love it.
I have a MBX which is a low cost decent cab.
And my Neo.
Both of which are paired with my Goldline 500. (or Backline 600 should anything happen to it)

These both sound very nice, but if you have the cash go with the Neo.
I have been playing it for about a year now, and it puts up with everything I do to it, and loves it.

The MBX is good, but only rated @400W and the goldline rated @500W
It doesnt give me any head room for anything extra. (You can "over watt a bass amp so long that you arent giving it continuous sound. This is the difference between watts and RWS.)

The Neo has the horn which is going to win the hearts of professional bass players. Very nice amp over all, good for just about any style of music.
and @800W it can handle large heads and take effects on top of it. Your head should go greatly with this cab.

Ive never played the RBH but they are the only cabs taht are front ported by GK which WILL make a difference in tone. They are front/side ported and will make for a brighter tone (as the ports dont allow the sound to compress as long in the cab.) But the 410 weights in at 96 pounds, and thats without the head.

My recommendation is the NEO 410.

I have an 700RB-ii also. Have both Neo-2 212 and a 112 cabs. Both cabs are 8 ohms. Typically at rehearsals I use the 112 (or a GK MB150-112E combo amp). Use the 212 cab at gigs, although I always bring the 112 also. There have only been a few times I've need to run both cabs to get the right stage volume. Using two cabs means the amp will be driving 4 ohms rather than 8. If you like the GK sound, you'll probably find the sweet spot happens when you drive the master/output section to the rail. Be aware with two cabs (4 ohms) the amp will be "louder" to hit that output level rail. Maybe that's what you want, maybe not.
