Hello I feel a little fraudulent writing on here as I am not a musician but please bear with me.My very lovely other half sadly died just over a year ago aged only 42 and left me with several of his CD's from over the years of being in different bands. He wrote and composed stuff and was a damn good guitarist.I would dearly love to be able to get his music onto Facebook, but being incredibly dense at such matters have no idea how to, and am drowning in computer jargon.I have added the Ilike app to my facebook page but how do i get the stuff from his cd into mp3 format,or indeed do i need to or is it possible to transfer music from a cd some other way. Many thanks if anyone can help at all,it would be greatly appreciated

I would love to help you out, but I'm not the best at explaining it because if I do, you might be even more confused, but I'll try.

First, you need an MP3 converter. Which you can download here:

http://download.cnet.com/Koyote-Free-Mp ... 42362.html

You put your CD in your computer and it will rip the songs and save it to your computer. It will probably have a .wav or .wma extension on the files. Open the MP3 converter and call up your files and use the convert say .wav to mp3. Make sure you save them somewhere on your computer where you can find them, like your Desktop or your My Documents folder.

Then you can upload them to Facebook. I can't really explain that well. If no one else can help you, just e-mail me the songs and I'll put them up for you.

Yeah like Chaeya said...

Switch Sound file converter is another free file converter software. Just google it as Switch Sound file converter free download.
Once you've downloaded the software to your computer just follow the steps.
Start up the Converter software
Select your file you want to convert off the CD
Select the format you want it converted to Mp3
Select where you want to save it to
Click convert
It only takes a few seconds to convert a song.
I've never used facebook but i would imagine it has an up load music option.
Sorry for your loss. Good Luck

Something else just came to mind i thought i'd pass on to you... if you're going to post music you should make sure you have copyrights. http://copyrightregistery-gov-form.com/
You never know what you may have. So protect yourself.
Peace
