I stopped listening after her second album. She's been copied so much, I just lost the allure, plus I just cringe every time I see someone trying to use the shock value. I mean I listened to the Sex Pistols and the Plasmatics, not much can really shock or make me mad. I can't help but listen to Top 40, my daughter subjects me to it every time I get in the car.
I also love techno and dance music, I mean, I loved the disco era, but this is worse than disco. At least disco didn't blather the stuff all over Top 40, so most of the better songs made their way on the charts. All the stuff I listened to was underground. But now, no one's singing without an Antares or some lame rap about stuff that I switch over to KROQ whenever I hear the crassness.
At least my daughter has started to switch the station over to KROQ on her own.

I don't fault the cover players but if someone doesn't write and perform originals they'll still be playing "taking care of business" in their gig at the old folks home.
New music must come from us.

Not Only That but at the end of the day, if you do Voodoo Child better than anybody else in the whole world...Its still Jimi Hendrix's song.
