Why don't you share yours first?

Then I'll talk about the deal that didn't want my band, cause they were Fat and, Too skinny, and too Black, and too ugly. BUT we sure had fun playing!

Heres another one of your why is the sky blue posts yet you really don't want to share any thing. Maybe thats just your personality. Obviously your not afraid to stick your neck out a bit cause you did put up some decent tracks.
SO WAADDUP? :)

Signed??? To what? A performance contract? A European tour with a guaranteed paycheck? A 7 year recording contract with Sony?

I don't think your tracks "blow" 5K. Sounds like you are just trying to walk that line between what you think is artistic and what someone else thinks they can sell. Good luck. That's a tough one, cause the '"suits" are usually not in the business of supporting the arts with free money.

My experience was the assface stole our studio masters before we could ever "sign". Dude came in and gaffled them when we weren't there. Obviously, he didn't have the $$$, nor did he intend on releasing anything.

We were about to sign with a booking agent one winter when the gigs were getting scarce around here. We were were the first house bad for a nice club in the area, and most of the guys just came off the circuit. We played there 6 months, then had gigs booked for a week every month, but that wasn't enough to keep us going. So someone suggested that we get an agent.

The agent wanted 10% off the top, but we thought that was OK. Then he kept telling us that it would be a little longer before he could work us into the circuit. We understood that booking another band would take a little time, so we were patient. Then he wanted 10% of the gigs we booked ourselves while we were waiting to get on the circuit.

Like that worked. We conveyed our sentiments to him and booked our own gigs from then on. The gigs started opening up and we worked steady for years without an agent.

Of course it's better to play as many different places as possible, but the truth is your core fan base won't travel to the other side of the state or even city to see you, so it's best to get a rotation of four or five local places that you play regularly.

Hey John, I just got a chance to listen to some of your tunes, it sounds awesome, takes me right back to the metal scene in my area during the late 80s. Wheres my spandex, bic lighter and leather jacket, and i think I had a mullet back then, LOL.

If thats you singing I can understand why they asked you to sing Dio, cause you have that kind of voice.

Hey Good Luck

Im kinda with Jimmy start close to home and then gradually spread out some, you guys might be great opening for some 80s sort of bands and might pick up folks from that genre. My son is 19, I dont see him buying your stuff based on what I hear him playing around the house all the time. But who knows maybe get on some younger metal bands bills and see where it goes.
