One of the things I've seen with most bands including ours is lack of dynamics..........louder is not better......you have to play to the room.
185 db doesn't work in in a tea house. If you are a vocal band (good harmonies) pull the music back and use your voices to complete the sound..............just my opinion.

If they turn up too loud - I cut'm back down.
That way we don't get louder, on up to hearing damage, like most bands.
One overly-loud instrument can easily ruin a song.

Respect each other.

Listen to each other.

Turn down.

....Good luck with that....

How to keep every band member happy with the P. A. Mix?

Get a great sound system and sound man that knows what the hell he is doing.

Ask him if he has a suck button on the system, if he does, hire him!

For years I've told younger guys "always listen to the sound guy, cos he has the suck button".

I have one and it will f you up on stage but the crowd will not hear it.

From my limited experience stand point.

It is not going to happen.

Try to get the best possible mix and let her rip!

Sometimes you don't even know that anyone was unhappy until they've quit the band.

Hell with my guys after the first song everyone says give me more of this or less than that. By the 3rd song we are cooking!

Actually...We own our own PA system and like to do a soundcheck when the first of our friends show up... We have them stand in different areas of the club and just play partial tunes and we get the most honest and sane advice from them as to who's too loud or low or if the vocals need more high end, etc... Works very well for us as we control the sound on stage so without a few people out there to give us feedback, we're basically fukked!

We basically do the same Kerry.

Sound check, play, tweak what our people say needs tweaking and let r rip.
