You guys are funny. It reminds me of many of the lyrics Delerium uses for its songs. Dark, poetic, ethereal. Put to the right music, it can work.
Here's a sample of Delerium's work: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1gMxKBLftq4

I love to write poetry .. I haven't sadly since really my HS years. Not really sure why. Things didn't always mesh in my heart, to want to create. By the way my GF turned 39 this week and I am 33 .. Hardly young but thanks. Unless I have to be 50 -heh- She also loves morbid, dark, and beautiful things. Guess I'm just as odd but that makes us a good match I hope =)
Just sharing one of many poems I have .. wrote this at 16. Titled it :
"Living Dead"
Running down
Way beneath the ground
What Heaven hasn't taken
I will give away
My love is lost
And my skin turns out gray
But the box forces the dirt
Upon my grave
A scream beneath the chatter of bugs
That burrow within death
That burrow within me
I'm alive...but not well
My eyes crusted shut see no more
But I smell the ills of the rotting wood
What's that...a cry from above
Faint...but there for me to here
I'm not dead, I will not die
But yet I am, seeing death many times
I'm not dead, I will not die
Don't be sad this day, I will arise

I am but a dream amidst these shadows. The black mass of chattered bugs in my brain is all that I know. To kiss and bleed these demons through my mouth. To less in mind the cage of iron beating and to scurry like a mouse. -Daniel Towsley

She loves my little poetic rants. I love her dearly hence words seem to always flow when I am around her. Like my mind just floods in deeper feelings. To really just be happy and myself.
picture in the readers mind. I would never say those things to my wife.
Stop trying to be so artistic and speak from your heart. That's what
she really wants to hear.

Slacker G wrote:Well how I see it most of humanity fears death. We fear the unknown. Yet we try to express ourselves like we know it all. We are all associative to our experiences on this Earth. And while I'd love to feel someone could lose that fear. I feel they only try to repress it, to feel they have become stronger. However, in the darker recesses of the mind it lingers like a cancer. Fear is a good thing. I feel it can motivate us to pushing us to be better. If we try and use it. If one simply gives in to fears, it has won. So use it, explore it, redirect it. Though maybe I am a bit silly -eh- =)One can not truly write of Life. Until the time they begin to fear Death.
Now really?? If I were to buy into that at all ....... It would be my belief that no one can truly experience or write of life until they have lost their fear of death.
For if you have lost your fear of death, you truly have freedom to write whatever you wish about the powers that be, or whomever, without fear of reprisal. Just an opinion of one who does not fear death.
