As for any techs I employ, here is the deal they are offered:
A market hourly rate with what ever benefits we can afford... or
1099 work and they get 50% of the contact billing rate. That is a ton more cash. If they generate more work, they get 60% of that contract.

Here is the catch. I back up every bit of work I do. That means if something they work on fails, and it is in warranty, they fix it and can not bill that time. They take as big a risk as I do.

That is an incentive to do it right and get paid for it.

So be a partner and take pride in your work or be an employee. Take risk for bigger reward or be completely reliant upon my ability to keep you busy.

Everyone has a similar choice. Slowly we have been selling our choice by the people we elect. We watch TV instead of research the people who wish to be elected. We learn about sports stats instead of economics. We ask for hand outs and wonder how the government got control over us so much. We refuse to take personal responsibility and sue whom ever we can and that gets all these politically correct rules in the market place.

If I can sue my employer for allowing other employees to smoke, they can ban smokers in the work place.

If I can sue my employer for not catering to my fat ass needs because I can not fit in a normal chair, they can institute health policy.

If I can sue the city, my employer or anyone else because my commute is giving me back problems, they can choose to not hire people with a long commute.

There is a societal cause for each complaint I see. If it were not for stupid f**k people too lazy and deliberately ignorant being propped up by our legal system and liberal, bleeding heart judges with agendas, we would have fewer problems. There would be no warning signs on chain saws "Do not stop with genitalia" or on blow dryers "Do not use in the shower" or curling irons that say "do not use while sleeping".

You want to blame corporations for protecting themselves from stupid f**k litigious people? I can not since I am on the other side. I know what I have to protect myself against.

The people have sold out and now they are complaining about what they bought. Those particular people, and Phil this is not aimed at you personally, if they want sympathy from me they can look in the dictionary between sh*t and Syphilis. (Thank you Major Payne for that gem)

I vote, and I vote for whom I think will get regulation out of my way. I vote for people who believe in Tort Reform. Who believe in stopping frivolous lawsuits. Who, in short, believe in freedom despite the consequences.

So I stick my neck out but I back it up. I do not just talk about it, I get out and prove it Right. I leave the complaining for those who wish to remain ineffectual victims of the system.

Phil, I was in your shoes and I said f**k 'em all and took my own path. That is not for everyone, but it fells better than glorified servitude.

Slacker, very good. I can hear Charlie Daniels singing that.

Not many take a position such as yours, that it's about thoughts and convictions IN the frontal lobes, not bar codes ON the brow.

I saw the beast kneel to worship as the child of God stood and watched, and the beast turned and glared at the one standing, and the anger of the beast burned against the child of God.

I have that (C). You owe me .00002 cents.

I think my old man beat you to it.

I've heard that speech near daily since 1960.

I'm only now REALLY coming into my own understanding of what he was saying all those years
