I'm going to see Thin Lizzy Thursday at the casino. They have quite a lineup; four guitarists including Scott Gorham and Brian Robertson from the original band. I haven't seen TL in nearly thirty years, this should be good. www.thinlizzyband.com

I saw them when i was 15 back in 79, they played a show at Cleveland Municipal Stadium with ACDC(Bon Scott) Scorpions (1st US appearance), Aerosmith, Journey and Ted Nugent. I think it was $11 bucks for a ticket. They called them World Series of Rock. Was crazy general admission for all. Stampedes people carrying in Kegs... ahhh the good old days.

Hell yeah! The first time I saw them AC/DC opened for them (77?). The last time I saw them was 1981. Love those harmony leads, and with four guitarists it should be fun.

It never ceases to amaze me the longevity of some of the classic rock bands. Sounds like a great time, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. If a space alien visited me and asked me what rock and roll was I'd give'm a Thin Lizzy album. A number of years ago a friend of mine saw Iron Butterfly. He said they still sounded exactly like they did in the 60's. Incredible...

Thanks for sharing. I always enjoy watching musicians do something I'm not technically capable of doing...

Did you check out Brian Robertson smoking a cig while trading leads with Scott Gorham?

Tomorrow night, I'm geeked.

I told Cisco that if Phil Lynott was still alive, I'd have to have a "Get Out of Marriage Free" card.

Just got back from Thin Lizzy, amazing show that brought back a lot of memories. Somehow I ran into my drummer and his buddy from Ireland, neither expecting the other. The band was awesome, however Brian Robertson was absent and presumably sacked again. Vivian Campbell took over for him and wailed! These guys are true pros, a lot of rehearsal went into that show.

Damn Jimmy you always make me jealous of the shows that come thru your area. I saw Thin Lizzy at the Mid-South Coliseum in the late 70s, I think it was Mothers Finest, Pat Travers and Rainbow. Man we had some awesome concerts at that venue now that I think about it. Its sad cause now they are going to tear it down. The last show I saw there was Transiberian Orchestra 7-8 yrs ago. Its sad to see these old places go. You knew it was a good concert when the ceiling tiles started falling down. Back then you could fire up the lighter and knock beech balls all over the place. Sweet Memories!!!!

Thanks for sharing!

Lizzy has always been a great influence of mine. They are one hell of a band. Just a question, though. Was Brian Downey behind the drumset that night?? I know I have seen other drummers in their more current lineups lately. Just curious.

Yep he was there, and did a nice little drum solo. Great show!
