There are phone booths in Europe? How prehistoric!

You won't find one in a 30 mile radius of mu house!

I seen a guy on a motorcycle texting someone while run 50 down the street with his girl on the back. Someone sent a sext message to my phone one day by accident. I think I would make sure I was sending it to the right number if I were wantingf to show my ass to somebody.

When working around the house I will often use the remote control app on my droid top remote control my desk top computer over Wi-Fi to adjust, change or control playlists.

Airweavers wrote:Glen, I don't wanna raise yer hackles, but my wife and I do that all the time at home. It's the reason we do it that might raise your antennae in ways you'd probably rather not have to.

Almost ALL the time we spend together during the day, the house is full of kids. If we wanna flirt in ways they oughtn't to be hearing, we send PM's across the room.

It's probably stuff they wanna say to each other they don't want you to hear.

Come to think of it, you probably don't wanna know either.

That's cool man. I respect that. I prefer to kick all the kids out of the backyard or the bedroom, or where ever,,, I'm just so old fashioned you may be right. :(

I don't have a cell phone. Is that one of those things that looks like a WW2 walkie talkie?

NO Slacker, mine is much bigger,[or so she says  ] I need a whole truck to carry my cell phone around, the antennae can stretch 500 feet in the air, and at best I get reception from 30 yards.

My question to you is,,, Should we upgrade or stand fast on our principles?

Glen,

The truth is that I leave my house to get away from people so why would I ever need a cell phone?

I can't imagine being at everyones beck and call. To say nothing about the texting and stuff. It's just a form of insanity. Strange dudes watching movies on their tiny cell phone displays when a 47" TV is on the other side of the room. (You know damned well you've done that before.) Standing next to each other, or driving down the road in the same vehicle texting each other, or from across the street or wherever. Amateur radio was a lot like that, CB radio was like that. The new HF ham gear is as bad as cell phones to some.

I'm not a tech addict. I don't need all that crap. I just leave the house with my MP3 player glued to my cap, make sure I have all I need on my USB drives, Put on my LED flashlight, remember to take along spare players in case the one I have is bad. Yup. None of that new fangled crap for me. I don't need any of those gadgets. :)

People waste their money on a lot of technology. I almost think it's cruel that some of these companies keep coming out with the "latest" in the state of the economy.

Actually Slack the biggest tv I have is only 20 inch and it only works when a Clint Eastwood movie is on. Poor me. I wouldn't think of going to the beach, or fishing, or hiking, or stopping in the middle of a show to answer a cell phone. I am only guilty of not wanting to talk to you when it is just not convenient. So shoot me!.

Glen,

Only the first line of that post was directed to you and you're also not wanting a cell phone. I thought I would point that out.

A while back there were posts on FX. I replied to JW's post, since I know he is a good guitar player and I couldn't understand how he wouldn't listen to a guitar player if he wasn't constantly changing tone, and someone else thought I was referring to them and got all bent out of shape.

So I thought I would add this disclaimer in case you thought it was all about you. :) :)

Wife and I sat in a restaurant last evening.

A young woman and her mother with a screaming baby... both sat and were mesmerized by their hand held idiot boxes.
( the baby was throwing a temper tantrum with a steak knife in her hand )

I bet they wonder whats wrong with that baby, when the problem was them.

Lots of posts noting its common place. Though makes me wonder how many go out in the sunlight day after day =). I only see maybe a few people on a phone, and/or texting during my days. And I have to be out a lot. My job requires the travel and exposure to social orders -lol-. I also lived near Atlanta and it wasn't like this huge plague. I think some try to make a mountain out of a mole hill.

True you will find people as stated in other people's posts. Though this isn't a majority or common place.

-Really this thread just makes me think of 2 old men complaining about things.-
