As I was going to bed last night,,,

My daughter and her boyfriend were watching TV. Normal right????

However, they were very busy sending TEXT MESSAGES to each other, from one inch away.

I guess my life is over, just so old fashion. I guess I shouldn't complain, I just don't understand this new form of birth control.

Glen, you and me both. Not too long ago, I watched a couple come into a restaurant, sit down across from each other and both of them proceeded to work their iPHones like they were working out a science experiement. They didn't look up at each other, they didn't speak. When their food came, they stopped and ate, still not speaking. Then when they finished, they went back to thumbing their iPhones, then the girl leans over and shows the guy something and he jerks his head up like "ugh" and then they went back to thumbing some more, then they got up and left.

I'm waiting for the "Feelies" to become mainstream, and then I'll realize that Aldus Huxley is the next Nostradamus.

A few years ago technology was considered nerdy, and in my book a considerable amount of it still is. Technology has caused a lot of laziness and short attention span in people...also car accidents. Damn, don't I sound like a grumpy old sour bastard? Well, I've been tired lately.

But, what I'm saying is still the truth!

No Krul, you don't. I believe in good old fashion talking to each other, verbal. Some of my friends go, "did you get my text?" Uh, "you didn't look at your phone?" No, it's usually buried in my purse. I've found texts from people like weeks after they sent them.

Sorry, I usually buy the little cheap piece of crap that Sprint offers. So now my kids are wanting Droids in December when my contract is up. I have no idea what to do with it.

I got you beat! My phone is 12 years old, only one person has the #, it weighs 2 pounds, I use @ 6 minutes a month, have replaced the battery 4 times, and mostly use it to tell me what time it is. Now that is truly sick.

Whatever you do please don't call during a Clint Eastwood movie.

I find it amusing here at my work - getting on the elevator, everyone is chin down looking into their i-phone / blackberry. The door opens, and everyone collides - it seems collision with objects while nose buried in a text message is a growing phenomenon :D

Does anyone remember an episode of Monty Python that depicted the remaking of movies with the actors "speaking" their lines in semaphore (flag signals)? This is not unlike that concept. Maybe they should re-make episodes of TV shows with the actors "speaking" with text messages. How about an episode of Leave It To Beaver, all on text messages? Or Beauty and the Beast on text messages? Or how about a concert with the singers texting the lyrics instead of singing them? How about a remake of a classic movie, all done on texting, how about The African Queen? Or Citizen Cain? Just think of the possibilities...

Annoying or what Glen? :D
Yup. Look around the streets, everyone is texting someone. I don't really need a phone, to be honest. If I breakdown, I walk. If I need someone, there's a phonebooth or something similar.

Of course there are the emergency situations we all dread. But an emergency is not every hour, of every day, of every week.

Funny though :D
